After checking into the Super 8 Kettleman City CA motel, I tried using the motel room phone line to call the 1-800 "superline" phone number to reserve a room for the following night. I was told to dial "0" then the 1-800 number. Dialing "0" got the hotel desk, the phone system would not allow the rest of the number. I then called the 1-800 number on my cell phone, only to listen to a recording for the next 10 minutes. I then called the office to get the direct phone number for the Super 8 in the town we were going to. I asked for the phone number for Yreka, CA. and was given the phone number for Eureka, CA. The clerk at the Eureka motel could not locate the phone number for the Yreka Super 8, so I finally went to the office and the clerk there called the Yreka motel on the motel office line. The clerk in Kettleman City was very helpful, even if he didn't code our room key correctly, leaving me at midnight standing outside my room, knocking on the door hoping my husband was awake to let me in.
This Super 8 motel, like others, had a mini-size dining room for the Super Start breakfast, 2 tables that seated four each. There was no room for us to sit. Everything they offered for the breakfast was carbohydrates, no protein.
