“Lovely, secluded and romantic getaway”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 May 2012 via mobile

We had a beautiful oceanside room. It was on the corner of the top floor, so we had windows on two sides and an amazing view. The hot tub had a great view of the ocean. We watched the sun set over the ocean during a delicious dinner in their dining room. They don't have room service, but they will pack up a very tasty breakfast for you to enjoy in your room. We enjoyed coffee the next morning in front of a roaring fire in the fireplace at the main lodge. Great architecture. If you have a tendency to get car sick (which I don't), be sure to have some Dramamine before you drive out there - I could have used some! The staff was very friendly. It was a very relaxing getaway.

“Great Relaxing Birthday Weekend”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 April 2012

I brought my Fiancée here for her birthday weekend. We love traveling the coast of California and especially out of the way places like Timber Cove. I booked the Timber Cove in on the recommendation of a co-worker. It looked great on the website, I have to say I was a bit concerned after reading a few review on here. But honestly it was a great hotel.

Yes it is not a brand new hotel, the Inn has a charm to it that you will not find in a "new" hotel. The staff was great. The restaurant was fantastic. We did not have one bad meal all weekend. We had an absolutely amazing view of the ocean. Honestly that is the main reason to come here. If you want to relax enjoy the view, have a nice glass of wine and a nice meal this is the place to go.

We had one little problem with our front door's weather stripping and I spoke to the GM Keith and he had it handled right away. Also, Keith was in the lodge/lobby all weekend talking with guests and making sure that they had a great stay. I do not think I have ever seen that so great job Keith! Our Bartender Stacey was great as well, very kind and quick service.

We will for sure come back here. We would love to come stay a couple night during our honeymoon. I highly recommend this place for couples!!

Dear ledieff,

I am so glad to hear from you and to know that you intend to come back. It would be fantastic to see you again! Give us a call and ask for me when you are planning your honeymoon, as I would love to do something special for you to commemorate the occasion. Of course, we do have the ability to host your wedding and reception on our beautiful wedding lawn and in the Ansel Adams room if you have not yet chosen a venue. Let us know if you have any questions!

I appreciate that you provided me the opportunity to address the issue with your door while there was still time to make a difference during your stay. As a hotel manager, I cannot guarantee that every aspect of every stay will be perfect. However, if given the opportunity to address any shortcoming, I can guarantee that we will make every effort to make things right.

We know that you had many options to celebrate your birthday weekend, and we are honored that you chose us - thank you!

At Your Service,

Keith

We stayed one night on our way back from Sonoma to San Francisco. We wanted to enjoy the majestic Hwy 1 along the coast, experience a wonderful sunset, starry night, and a wonderful dinner. All came true. Truly a great place, although a little bit outdated, but more than made up by its surroundings and the great people working there.

“Coastal vistas and tranquility”

Recently spent a night at this inn following a colleague's recommendation and was not disappointed. If you're on highway 1 or near the Sonoma coast then worth a stop off even if just for lunch!!

We booked a superior ocean view room and it is worth the extra. We stopped in room 505. The room was spacious with the bed at one end overlooking the view. A great place to wake up and look out of. The room is very open plan with the shower located in the middle so don't expect too much showering privacy if you don't know your room mate too well!!

The rooms feel very rustic as they are made out of heavy timber, this can give a slightly dated impression but nothing overly to worry about. The fireplace in the room makes it all feel very romantic and to fall asleep in the comfy bed with the gas fireplace gently burning away makes it feelquite special.

Service was impeccable. Everyone was very welcoming from reception through to bar staff and waiting staff. A credit to the place.

Finally the food. Wow! Some may consider it a little pricey but I thought it well worth it. The crab dip, fish tacos and cioppino were all exceptional. Add to that the brief stroll after dinner to the outside fire pit overlooking the ocean and I would consider it all very well worth the money!

Very much recommended if you find yourself near Jenner.

Dear TravellingAdman,

It was a pleasure to have you as our guest all the way from the UK! I wanted to follow up to your review by saying "thank you" and to let you know that we truly appreciate the kind words, particularly your remarks about our service. We are all very proud of the guest experience that we provide, and for us, service is where it all begins. The stunning views, comfortable rooms, and fresh, local food & wine are all integral parts of the Timber Cove Inn experience as well. There are many exciting upgrades in store for our hotel in the coming months, so if you find your way back to our area we hope you will join us again to see the difference!

“Not happy”

Stayed two nights. The room was nothing like the internet pictures. The shower had only luke warm water. When we asked if the room with a couch was bigger, they said no. It had to be because our room certainly had no room for one.
Dining room food was good but very pricey for what you got. The lodge price did not match what we got.
It was a birthday celebration.
Definitely would not go back again.
Checked out Fort Ross Lodge just down the road and would highly recommend
it to anyone.

Room Tip: Ask to see the room even if you have reservations already because the internet pictures are not alwa...

Dear Lee977,

Please accept my sincere apology for the disappointment you experienced staying with us recently. We do in fact have a number of different room types and sizes with ocean, cove, and forest views. We should have more sufficiently explained these options to you so that you might have selected the room type best suited to your preferences.

I would appreciate the opportunity to speak with you regarding your overall experience and observations. As the new General Manager, I am eager to get to know our guests and better understand what their expectations are. If you would be kind enough to provide your contact information via email, I would be happy to call you at your convenience. My address is: keith.hill@timbercoveinn.com.
