Convenience drove my decision to stay at Doubletree in Irvine. The room was fine, except for the cycling of an electric motor, which occurred sporadically and was very annoying. The restaurant is OK, but there are many better choices nearby at Irvine Spectrum, and outdoor mall full of restaurants. The breakfast buffet is fine, but again, nothing great. The rooms are a bit dated, but are functional. The gym is a joke - two treadmills and an eliptical, and a set ob barbells. This is a visually attractive property that needs some updating to become more than average.
