“Very Good and getting Better but pricey”

As of 02/2012, the hotel is undergoing renovation, seemingly major in the lobby and described as "cosmetic" in the rooms, but the room fixes include the addition of two nice large LCD televisions. The atrium is smallish, making the breakfast and evening reception seating quite iffy. The staff is world-class, easily making up for the minor construction mess. The room rate is somewhat pricey for the location, so adding an additional charge for internet access and another one for parking is insulting.

Room Tip: The "deluxe" rooms are really about the same size as the standard rooms with the addition...

“Great Staff”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 February 2012

Spent three nights, early February, at this hotel on an AARP Expedia reservation.
This is a typical Embassy Suites which includes a great breakfast and watered down drinks
and munchies in the evening.
What sets this ES apart is its great staff from the front desk to the shuttle driver to the housekeeping staff. The building itself, however, has rough edges and appears to be in the midst of some remodeling.
Location is in a business park with limited dining options.

“Hotel Room and Elevator showing age”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 February 2012

My bed was great the room was nice but the Bath Room was saying I need attention! Cabinet was worn and door hanging, Tub could use some good attention on calking cleanup and general maintenance. Elevators and the Brass was nasty looked like it had not been cleaned in months. Used my room key to press the button.

Overall I would stay again but surprised by the condition being an Embassy Suite.

“*Almost* perfect”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 February 2012

Spent 4 nights here on business. Overall I was delighted with this place. The rooms are quite large - it was nice having a separate "living room." No concerns with cleanliness. It was very quiet in my room, with no noise from neighbors or from the outside (even though the airport is practically around the corner). Staff is very friendly and helpful, and several of them learned my name very quickly.

Fitness center is quite nice by hotel standards, with several cardio machines, free weights, fitness balls, yoga mats, and a hardwood floor area separate from the machines that I used for stretching. Hot tub was almost hot enough for my standards (I get really frustrated with hotel "hot tubs" that are merely warm). Pool is plenty large for anyone wanting that.

My only complaint is their shuttle system. Reserving a time is recommended, but didn't help on the first night. I waited 40 minutes past my scheduled time to go to dinner; the staff kept telling me "he had to take a group to the airport" and then "he just took another group to the airport." When I expressed extreme frustration, another employee drove me in a separate vehicle. The other nights, we experienced no real problems with the shuttle. HOWEVER, my suggestion for the hotel would be to run the shuttle on a fixed, scheduled route. To get back to the hotel requires calling for a pickup. The shuttle may be able to arrive in 5 minutes, or it may be 30 minutes. That is extremely frustrating.

Breakfast buffet was excellent. Lobby is nice, if a little 1991-ish. Part of the lobby area is being re-done, but that doesn't affect the guest experience.

Other than the shuttle, this place was fantastic.

“Picketers at 6am!”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 January 2012

We arrived late after a long drive. The hotel is currently under construction but functional. We finally got settled in and to bed after midnight in our special suite, which is nice and just a few feet larger than a standard suite. I've definitely had bigger corner suites at other embassy's.

The major problem is this: picketsers often gather at 6am and are loudly protesting with drums and loud noises. On the 8th floor we were awoken to their protests. The windows do not block the noise whatsoever. A TV will not muffle the sounds. I called the front desk and asked what was going on and was told this has been happening for a year. Now I am going to see about moving to the other Embassy just a couple miles away! Ugh.
