“And it didn't even snow till after we left”

We stayed at 3 Bears 12/17-20/2010, and loved it. Can't knock anybody for the weather: rained all 4 days constantly, highly unusual. But it gave us excuse to just relax, read, talk. I did get to see the view out the window of Lily Rock for all of 10 minutes, before clouds came back in. Really an architecturally unique house plus detached apartment, which my college-age son appreciated. The only two negatives (dvd player showed our dvd's in green tint; satelite TV worked great otherwise, and smoke detector "low battery" indicator in master bedroom chirped at us at 3am, easily taken care of) were minor. Would definitely stay here again, in better weather next time. Or snow.

“Another perfect stay at the Quiet Creek Inn”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 December 2010 via mobile

We stayed in cabins 8 and 10 for the nights. The setting is so beautiful and my son enjoyed exploring the grounds and the creek. The cozy barn with the free hot chocolate, popcorn, games, books and huge DVD collection was a big hit also. The inn owners are so helpful and lent us extra large pots from their own kitchen. They also lend out free Adventure passes that are needed for hiking in the area. They also have a great gallery on the premises with local plein air art on display. It snowed while we were at Quiet Creek and it felt like a winter wonderland. This is the best place to stay if you need to get away from it all. It is magical.

“cabin and management awful, idyllwild and friends awsome”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 August 2010

We stayed at Winston's retreat, which is a cabin rented by Quiet Creek Inn. Our kids refused to eat near the kitchen for the first 2 eays due to the awful smell coming from the sink and diswasher. The smell only diminished to a tolerable level after we scrubbed the whole kitchen and ran the diswasher (twice). 1 out of the 4 burners didn't work on the stove and the oven still had old baked potatoes left by the previous guests. I was stung by a scorpion at night in the bathroom (I was 9 weeks pregnant at the time). The management's reaction was that it's all my fault. The local ranger station said that scorpions do come in cabins and a warning would be reasonable. They identified the scorpion as a non-venomous kind and I'm fine, however it was still a traumatic experience and all I wanted was the expression of some empathy from the management. Two out of the 4 air conditioners did not work in the cabin at all and we were HOT. The only thing that made our 1 week vacation somewhat enjoyable was the family and friends we were with and the wonderful art camp for our kids.

“Wonderful family getaway”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 August 2010

My husband and children ( age 6 and 8) had a wonderful one night stay in a cabin at Quiet Creek Inn. Jim, the owner, could not have been more helpful and welcoming both before and during our stay. The cabin was very comfortable and we found it very convenient to have a kitchen area. The 'living room' open to all guests was a great resource for movies, books and drinks. But what we loved most about our stay were the tranquil, beautiful grounds. Our children loved playing in the creek, lying in the hammocks and spotting squirrels. I am not surprised the Inn has so many repeat guests. We cannot recommend it highly enough.

I miss the jacuzzi tubs on the deck
But still love the place.
Keep up the great work
Staff & owners

Ps try not to tell too many people about the place. I don't want it to get too crowded. Ha ha
