My wife and I have stayed here twice now, both times for 5 days. My wife and I make about 4 trips a year to Huntington Beach area. The hotel is very nice and great location. The problem is the hotel staff has treated us very poorly both times. As our trips are for work pleasure combo we check in wearing blue jeans, teeshirts or shorts depending on the weather. The hotel staff is very rude and condinsending towards us both times. If you don't show up wear a suit they act like you don't belong there. Which is really crazy as they like to give an image of a surf hotel. If I can afford to stay there for 5 days a couple of times a year I can obviously afford to stay there. The way a hotel staff (female) spoke to my wife at check in we almost left on the spot, as she almost brought my wife to tears. The staff is very snobby which is funny because I am sure none of them could afford their prices.
In addition we ordered room service and had chicken Cesar salads they were unedible. The lettuce was rusty and the dressing was awful and smelled of bad fish and the one bite we each took it tasted of spoiled bad fish. I know real Cesar salad have an anchovie dressing and had really good Cesar's and know what there are supposed to taste like. When we called to have the trays picked up the staff asked how our meal was we told them that the salads were very disapointing and bad, they replayed ok were will be up to take your trays have a nice evening. Not even inquiring what was wrong with them. I suppose we could have made a bigger fuss but we are not those kind of people.
I do like the hotel location but, our next trip to Huntington Beach I think my wife and I will be staying at the neighboring hotel next door.
So in short if you are going to stay at this hotel dress in your best suit, stick your nose in the air and you will fit in just fine. And be leary of their Cesar salads.

My friend and I were on a World Wide Country Tour for the 2012 Rose Bowl Parade. The tour company picked this hotel, and it was fabulous! It was exquisite both inside and out, the staff was very friendly, and the food quite good. We had a wonderful view on our balcony--towards the ocean and the other and east was also pretty. I would definitely recommend this facility to anyone.

Stayed here for about one week over the holidays during visit to my old hometown. Hotel was very clean, staff was excellent, and restaurant pretty good. We had a room on the top floor, view was excellent towards the pier. While I was never excited about HB going upscale during the redevelopment of the last couple of decades, I must say they did it right at the Hilton.

We really enjoyed our stay at this hotel. The staff was so friendly and welcoming, I felt like VIP. I really appreciated that they accommodated our last minute date changes due to weather in Seattle. We loved the view of the pier from our sunset view room on the 9th floor. The room was very comfortable and perfect for the 3 of us. Bed were comfortable, not deluxe like some hotels but still slept fine. Not a fan of the little single cup coffee makers with the coffee pods - they only make half a cup at best. Went downstairs to the starbucks instead. It was nice to have a little store to buy some extra beverages. The weather was not so great during our stay but we still enjoyed the pool and hot tub area. It would be really nice on a hot day. The fitness room looked perfect for a quick workout (was too lazy to actually use it). Overall a great stay and I would definitely recommend this hotel and stay there again. Would be great to have free internet for guests in the lobby or other on site location.
*My only complaint is the overpriced, required valet parking @ $27....and the expected tip for the valet employees for a service you never wanted. The valet guys were very helpful and friendly however.
