“Needs updating.”

We stayed at this property for four days, mainly due to price and its location near family in HB. The room had a strange smell. The hot water in the lavatory didn't work, the tv reception was poor, and the exhaust fan in the bathroom sounded like a helicopter landing on the roof. Breakfast was ok. Staff seemed efficient. Property needs some work. "Suite" was a king-size bed and a couch crammed into a room that was simply not big enough for everything. Our stay was tolerable, but we would not return.

“A Good Value Not Far from the Beach”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 January 2012

The hotel is at 16301 Beach Blvd in Huntington Beach. It is a few miles from the beach. Beach Blvd is the main drag in Huntington Beach. It connects I405 and Pacific Coast Highway.

The hotel is a 3 story older hotel. There is ample parking for the facility. There are elevators to got one to the upper floors. The elevators were very large easily allowing guests with luggage get to the upper floors. The WiFi worked well on my smart phone. There was a PC in the lobby that you could use for free. You could print up to 5 pages for free.

The hotel rooms were older but clean. They were standard two bed rooms. My room had 2 queens but was a little tight. The beds had 4 half pillows. There were no pets allowed. The rooms were non-smoking. A unique feature was that there was a half wall between the beds that provided some privacy. I don’t remember encountering this in a basic hotel room before. The shower was standard and worked well. Everything worked well in the room. There was plenty of hot water. There was about a 21 inch TV that was not a flat TV. The cable was adequate but not HD.

I paid $80 a night for my stay using a senior discount. A safe was in the room that cost $1 per day. There was a closet with hangers and an iron and ironing board.

I used the exercise room. You had to get a key from the front desk. The room was on the 2nd floor near the elevator. It had a treadmill, elliptical, and some weight machines. I couldn’t get the treadmill working but I used the elliptical machine.

The room included breakfast which consisted of coffee, juice, waffles, eggs, bacon or biscuits, cereal and some rolls. It was pretty good.

I felt the room was a pretty good value. It was not luxurious but it was clean. I would stay again.

“Crammed but efficient”

The 'suite' we chose to stay in sported a king size bed. The room was too small for all the furniture; only room for one bedside table. As a result, it was a little like staying in a storage unit - you had to squeeze into the bathroom and then make sure that the door was closed to use the sink. The king size bed was extremely comfortable, providing a great night's sleep. The room seemed clean, though one of the chairs was badly stained and a drawer didn't work in the dresser. The wooden fittings were banged about. But management was quick to attend to details (we needed a light bulb replaced). The hotel is far away from the beach. The breakfast is good, though the lobby doesn't have enough tables. There is no guide for the Dish TV set up, but the room had a microwave and a fridge. Internet connexion was easy and good.

Room Tip: Take advantage of the breakfast

“GREAT STAY”

I stayed at Comfort Suites in Huntington Beach during the Thanksgiving holiday when I visited my daughter. The staff was so helpful, and they let me check in early. My room was very clean & the bed was so comfortable. The next morning I found the breakfast was very well presented and had so many items to choose from & the hot items were fresh & delicious. I feel I got a good value for what I paid for the room & I would give them the highest ratings. I also work for a very large hotel chain & the Comfort Suites really impressed me with their accommodations, the employees & the price.

“a much needed rest”

I have stayed in many hotels and have travelled over 1/2 the world in the military, and for business and pleasure. My wife and I have stayed here many times and consider it our home away from home in Huntington Beach. You will not be dissappointed from the time you check-in to check-out. Our room has always met or exceeded our expectations. The hot, fresh waffles and fruit for breakfast is a great way to start the day. This hotel offers everything you need and expect and more. All of the staff are very professional and curteous. Everyone there feels like family and is trying to make our stay as enjoyable as possible. We plan to go back for the Christmas holidays this year and for many years to come. I also recommend the Lazy Dog Cafe directly across Beach Blvd. to the East for a fun dinner and excellent food.

Room Tip: I always ask for a quiet room and have never been dissappointed.
