“Very good but not perfect.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 February 2012

This is a beautiful resort, right across the road from the beach. Only a mile from the pier. The rooms are spacious, clean and comfortable. The staff that we encountered were all very pleasant from check in, valet parking and bell services. Even the cleaning staff were very friendly. The landscaping and pool were very clean and beautiful. The food was very good. Having said all of that, I have a few complaints. 1) this property is very very long. Be sure to ask for a room somewhat near the lobby or pool. Our room was a very long walk from the lobby ( 275 yards measured on Google Earth). Also, I happen to be annoyed when you pay $300 + for a room and are then charged more for internet and also a $25 resort fee for what amounts to 2 bottles of Aquafina in your room each day. Also the food, although good was fairly pricey. During one of our meals, our family's table was basically ignored while two larger tables with lots of drinks were given all of the attention.

Even given the above issues, this is a very nice resort.

Jeff

Room Tip: Ask to be closer to the pool or lobby. Our room was a very far walk.

“Landscapers were busy!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 February 2012

A favorite with the family. Everything from its location by the beach, the beautiful decor with gardens and pools everywhere. You're in relaxation mode from the minute you walk in the door. Service is of course top notch. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Restaurants are pricey but the food is top notch. I would recommend this Hotel/resort to anyone.
The only thing I thought needed improvement was the spa which seemed a little dated but we spent more time on the beach anyway.

Room Tip: Phone and ask about day camps if you have kids traveling with you.

“Great location, great staff, great room”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 February 2012

We had a pleasant surprise when we checked into our room on 4 Feb. The room, while not directly facing the beach (we had a balcony beach view), was enormous, especially for not being a suite, or any other type of upgrade. The hotel grounds were impeccable, clean and well maintained. The staff was very friendly and nearly each one you passed in the halls or on the grounds greeted you. The hotel has everything you need from an activity store (where you can rent bikes and buy beach items), to an actual small grocery store on site for your needs, plus a small Starbuck’s.

I’d would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone wanting to stay in the Huntington Beach area and that wants to be close to the beach.

“Wonderful seaside escape”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 January 2012

This beautifully run property in Orange County offers comfortable rooms, conference facilities and direct access to the beach. Food and service was excellent, and the beauty of the pacific ocean is unparalleled. I would definitely return.

Room Tip: Sacrifice the beach view to obtain a quieter, courtyard facing room.

“Great Location in Huntington Beach”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 January 2012

We spent just one night at this Hyatt in Huntington Beach. Access to the beach is on a walkway over the PCH. The hotel is about a mile south of the Pier and the center of town. This keeps you a bit out of the fray. The grounds well kept with several pools for adults and children. Since the hotel charges a spa fee of $20, it is worth spending a bit of time there. They have a nice jacuzzi and steam room. We had an ocean view room that was well appointed with a great view of the ocean and sunset. The property rents bicycles and surfboards if you want to try your hand at surfing.
