Pros:

* Extremely nice front desk staff always smiled and were friendly
* Location close to Manhattan Beach, Hermosa Beach, Grocery Shopping, Retail Shops, 405 Freeway
* Free parking

Cons:

* Rooms are marketed for guests that want to use kitchens but are really designed for business travelers that do not cook or use kitchens
* Position themselves for extended stay but have an office desk with an office chair instead of a kitchen table and dining chair as other extended stay hotels offer
* Rooms are extremely dirty! (have photos)
* Rooms are falling apart - windows do not open, garbage disposals do not work, stoves do not work, bathroom sinks are falling in, closet doors do not open, etc. (have photos)
* Market themselves as offering continental breakfast but it is really a poor and limited breakfast (have photos)
* Gym is old and outdated (have photos)
* Poorly stocked lobby (could never find a pen or paper)
* Printer in lobby was out of service on numerous occasions
* Housekeeping does not do a good job on cleaning or replenishing room supplies such as soap, shampoo, towels and paper products (this forced us to visit the front desk on numerous occasions in order to retrieve the supplies we needed - also when speaking to housekeeping they confirmed that management has "budget issues" and gives them limited supplies!)
* WIFI only in lobby
* Saturday morning wake up call will arrive in the form of the loud lawnmowers outside your window that start at 7:30 am (always!)
* Poor Internet connection in-room
* Incompetent hotel management
* Overall having stayed at two TownePlace Suites hotels, this is a step-sister twice removed from the Marriott hotel brands
* Will make you go through hoops if you are charged incorrectly - I am still waiting on a credit

Also when we tried to work with management, they were not responsive and did not care about the issues. If "management" responds to this posting, we have PDFs as backup documents on how poor our situation was managed when we stayed at the hotel and were communicating our issues to the management staff.

Save your money and shop around.

Hotel seemed very new and well appointed, but there were some issues. First, the bath fan rattled for a while, before cutting out completely, making for a steamy shower. Second, there were some people carrying on in the parking lot around 3AM. I tried to call the desk to get someone to address the issue, but my calls went unanswered. After 30 minutes or so, the crowd finally dispersed on its own. Not what I'd expect from a Marriot brand hotel in this price range.

Spent 3 nights in a studio room. Plenty big enough for 2 adults. Bed is very comfortable, and the fold out sofa is ok.

Shower has plenty of pressure. Kitchen had all the utensils if you need to cook.

If you are a light sleeper ask for a room away from the main road, as it does get a little noisey, even with doubled glazed windows.

Great value for the price, and would stay again.

I can't say enough about this hotel. My husband arrived at LAX, picked up our rental car and decided to contact the hotel for an early check in. The front desk staff were extremely busy but they were able to answer my question promptly. They informed me that several guests were able to check in early and they would check if any rooms were available upon arrival.

Upon check in, the operations manager had to pick up many incoming calls but assisted me within a few minutes. The check in process was quick and easy. Luckily, there was one room that was ready as our assigned room was in the process of being cleaned.

Big pluses are: free parking, free internet (no wi-fi only hard wire connection which was fine), complimentary coffee throughout the day, complimentary continental breakfast, nice size rooms and bathrooms, nice size kitchen with all utensils, pots, pans and coffee pot. There is also a guest laundry room and all rooms are supplied with a laundry basket which was a great plus and an exercise room with my favorite elliptical machines.

Location: This hotel was conveniently located next to the freeway and next to the rail system, a strip mall 1-2 blocks away which included several stores and most importantly grocery stores: Trader Joe's and Fresh & Easy. First time at Fresh & Easy and all of the food and bread was fresh. We were on a strict budget and we were able to have enough food for 3 days spending less than $40.00 for 2 people.

I would highly recommend this hotel as it was less than 10 minutes away from LAX. If I come back to LA I will definitely come back. Remember, if you are on a budget, don't choose the hotels with the valet or paid parking.....some places will charge at least $20 a day.
