“Don't be fooled by the FAKE good reviews!!!”

We were the only people in the whole motel. The side door where we were told to go in was held open by a dirty towel(great security). This is where we loaded in and where we were told to park, "but don't shut the door or you'll have to come around". The desk was all the way at the other side of the empty building, and the hall was long, dark, dirty and cold. I changed rooms 2 times, once for a non working sink that had a bucket underneath, and once for a filthy room with no working tv. If these were their best I would hate to see the other empty rooms! Water poured of the balcony onto our deck, but no rain in site? More pipe leaks. I noticed a couple months later as I drove through that the place had been closed down, and we figured was to be demolished. We were wrong, and the horror show lives on! If you don't believe me stop in and take a look around(in the daytime), you will understand the meaning of ENTER AT OWN RISK! I would have taken my own pictures but my camera battery mysteriously drained! BOOOOO...

“Don't stay here, go on north toward next exit to Motel 6.”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 March 2011

The alternator to my car gave out at night while I was on I-5 N. Luckily there was this Econolodge I was able to pull into for the night. The clerk gave me room 211. The room was clean, however, the T.V. did not work, the heater made loud noises, and the wireless internet did not work either. I told the clerk about the room and he replies "What do you want to do?" Seriously, I thought, isn't it obvious? So I told him I want another room and he gave it to me, room 211. This room was much better and had a balcony, but the wireless internet did not work here either. The next morning I was able to use the wireless internet at the lobby, but it was extremely slow. I checked out and I had my car out in the parking lot positioned in a way so that the tow truck can load it easily, but at the same time I was taking two parking spaces in an empty parking lot. Because of this, the clerk called the cops on me. When the police arrived, I simply told him I was waiting for a tow truck and he left me alone. The nerve of that clerk to call the cops on me when I had just checked out. So don't stay at this motel, just keep going north to the next exit where you will find a Motel 6 and a Holiday Inn.

“Gorman Econo Lodge is NOT what you'd expect from Econo Lodge”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 September 2009

Normally we don't stay at Econo Lodge. In Gorman, Lady Luck was on our side. This facility apparently was constructed as an upper-end motel in the '60s and the rooms reflect this individuality. The cleanliness was nothing short of immaculate. The restaurant attached to the site, the Ranch House (?), was an excellent value. We absolutely will stay here again. The price? Seriously a deal for what we received.

“This hotel is probably rented out to make horror movies more than.....”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 August 2008

....actually nightly room rentals! PRETTY FRICKEN SCARY!! I pulled up and saw an East Indian man sitting watching an old big screen tv.So I get out and I hear my wife lock the car doors! I enter the lobby and notice that it looks to be the original lobby from the early 70's except for the square big screen tv which is about early 90's.I ask if he has any rooms and he says yes...no fricken kidding! its late, dark and I've been on the road all day so I just plan on crashing for a few hours.$80 for 2 beds with free breakfast. The parking lot is empty except for a couple cars but he gets me a room at the far end of the creepy hall??? My wife likes horror movies but is still pissed at me for making us stay here! A little to real for her liking! The room is dark, retro and smells funky, like a cross between a cheap cigar and a old gangbang movie set on a really hot day.The carpet is sticky and the bathroom is dirty, there are long black hairs on the floor and what appears to be a drop of blood on the floor behind the door, which they obviously didnt mop behind.I quickly get a face cloth wet and mop the floor with my shoed foot before my kids or wife see it.Breakfast was until 9 and we arrive at 8:40 to 2 pieces of bread,2 glasses of tang and a raisin danish.WOW! guess breakfast is over,I ask if they have anymore food and he looks at me as if I just killed his first born? ROACH MOTEL!! Great place to bring a Ouiji board and scare the crap out of any horror movie lover!

  • Liked — that it is beside a Carls Jr. because we had to have breakfast there cuz of their nonexistent free continental breakfast!
  • Disliked — everything

“Very Scary Place - Glad I saw it during the daytime”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 July 2008

I turned off of I-5 and to use the restroom at the Carl's Jr next to the Gorman Lodge. I did not even know that the Gorman Lodge was a hotel. There were no cars anywhere near the place. The trees and grass were unkept and nearly dead. The paint, windows, and walkways were in miserable condition. It looked like a set for a low budget horror movie. Is this place actually open? !! I am glad it was daytime when I went by - it was frightening enough then.

  • Liked — It was daytime when I was there - less scary.
  • Disliked — That it is open for business - Stay Away!! For the love of God!!
