This is one of the cheapest options in the Santa Barbara area and it will provide you with a clean room, a TV, and a bed. Outside of that, the rooms are very small, even for a Motel 6. The internet will cost you a few bucks per night, but do not bother as it is very slow and the wireless signal was awful for my room. It is also very close to highway 101/1 and the vehicle noise is audible from the rooms.

If you are looking for a place to crash for a night and don't plan on spending much time in the room this place is perfect, but if you want anything more than that look elsewhere.

We actually live in Goleta but have no room for guests. When my parents come for a visit it would be $1k minimum for them to stay at even the Holiday Inn just down the street from the 6. You cannot beat Motel 6 in price, for sure, but the important part is that it's really a very clean, safe, and friendly motel. My dad can no longer drive and he can walk to Starbucks or Coffee Bean in the mornings. Walgreens is across the street. Zodo's bowling alley is next door (which does create a little bit of evening noise sometimes). Don't get me wrong...we're not talking the Bacara...we're talking a nice and clean place to sleep on a budget. There is traffic noise and the bedding is thin (my mom always brings a quilt to put on top). I have reserved their room and they have stayed at the 6'er for over 10 years...the staff takes good care of them and there really are no other reasonable alternatives for the price.

Rooms are been remodeled and are very clean. Flat screen in room. You can also order room service from a catering site.

First of all, Santa Barbara is REALLY expensive. This Motel 6 offered a reasonable alternative (given the area.) The room was very updated - very Ikea and modern. It got very humid in the room but that may be due to the humidity of the outside air? We travel with our little fur baby and they don't have an additional fee for her. :)

The location was great for us. It isn't on the beach but there are a lot of places to eat, a Walgreens, grocery store, bowling alley, movie theaters....all within walking distance. It is just at the beginning of the 217 if you need to get to Goleta Beach, UCSB or the airport.
