“A Great Bargain!”

As a writer/musician, I travel a lot and when a friend in the movie industry recommended the Glen Capri Colorado I decided to take a flyer. I've spent more than 30 nights here now and if anyone can show me a better value in Los Angeles, please let me know.

Comfortable clean rooms, free cable & wi fi, coffee machine, fridge & microwave and a very nice and helpful staff combine to make this a winner. Nearby hotels offering less in the way of accommodations are priced much higher.

The neighborhood is walkable, and Brand Street -- a couple of blocks down -- teems with great restaurants and big name boutiques, along with the usual department stores, hamburger and pizza places.

Raman Mehta -- who runs the place -- is extraordinarily helpful, and the fact that he and his family are on site 24-7 gives the Glen Capri an atmosphere you won't find in most similarly priced motels anywhere in the Untied States.

Room Tip: i like 211, but don't try and get it while i'm there...

“The Glen Capri Inn-Colorado Street comes thru again.”

Once again we stayed at the Glen Capri-Colorado. We make numerous trips to California each year to visit our daughter and grand children. Mr. Mehta, the manager, always takes especially good care of us and that plus the fine rooms cinches the deal.
Stay here, you'll be satisfied.

“Horrible dont stay here,no customer service.”

Made a res two weeks in advance. At time of reservation I was asked what time I would check inn. I told the manager Arman I would check in at 6. Come the day of my arrival @ 6 my room was not ready. The manager (Arman) refused to give me another room stating that the other room available cost more. He said I would have to wait for the room to be ready 45 min. Don't expect these guys to step-up and take care of their customers.

“Don't Expect the Ritz”

Don't set your expectations too high based on other reviews, like I did. Conveniently located, the two story Glen Capris, Colorado Street occupies the site of an older motel. It is clean although the carpet edges are tattered. My first impression is that the receptionist is not winning any personality awards but might be a nice enough guy. I didn't try to engage him in coversation. I stayed two nights in a standard room with king bed for which I was asked to pay in advance upon checking in. There is a large flat-screen LG TV which has a great picture when viewing local channels but cable channels, like HBO or the History Channel, look like a mild sand storm is diminishing the picture. The peep hole in the door was stuffed with tissue paper to keep people from looking in. Shower amenities consist of foil packets of shampoo and tiny bar soap. The air conditioner / heater is a "window" style mounted in the wall. It worked fine. There is a microwave and mini-refrigerator. Free wi-fi. A small dresser, small desk and chair and a small round table and two wooden chairs rounded out the furnishings. Pillows are very thin...good thing I brought my own. The ice maching requires two quarters to fill a small bucket. The clientel is a mixed bag. At 5 am a gentleman was packing up his car outside my door and shouting, "Where's my beer?". The price was right but don't plan on spending a lot of time relaxing in your room.

Room Tip: In the summer, ask for a room facing north. West facing rooms catch the hot afternoon sun.

“very convenient location”

I selected this hotel for a business trip based on tripadvisor reviews and the fact that it was ranked first in the Glendale area.
I called the hotel and was able to match the price that I saw on line; please be aware that you do not get any confirmation number. The person on the phone told me that I was are all set when I come in. I am used to have written reservation number.
The hotel is located in the heart of the Glendale near restaurants, and a shopping malls.
My room was spacious, with a new flat screen monitor. The bathroom seems to be newly renovated with wall tiles. There is free high speed WIFI. The sheets and pillows were clean.
Everything looks great; then you wonder what is it inexpensive ( about $70/night) as compared to double of what you would pay in the same area?
Here is why I think contribute to the low operating overhead of the hotel : there is no breakfast, no pool, no fittiness room, no buiness center, no big fancy reception area; there is a vending machine outside in the parking. The owner lives with his family on the premises . The shampoo, conditioner ,and soap come in tiny sizes so plan on bringing your own.
There are also few details missing such as burnt light bulb, wall ethernet jack loose, blanket showing some old cigarette burns, smaller body towels....etc.
I also had a unpleasant encounter with an insect in the bathroom during my last day.
The conclusion is you get what you paid for.

Room Tip: try to get second floor room
