“Great Lodge”

We celebrated my 50th with friends and had a great stay. The Glen Ellen Market is just across the street and has an awesome deli, salad bar, and hot meals bar. Walking distance to restaurants, and a half mile to Benziger Winery. The rooms are comfortable, and the staff was very accommodating. Don't forget the free continental breakfast. We will be back!

“Not a great place to stay, but a great place to be.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 February 2012

This hotel is what it is. It is an older hotel/motel that has been remodeled. Don't go in thinking this is a 5* resort in wine country. It is a small hotel in a small cross-roads town. But saying that I still liked staying here. It is very quiet and peaceful. We stayed here to start our Sonoma vineyard tours. Jack London State Park is very close. It wasn't on our itinerary but we had time to kill and really enjoyed it. We hiked to the burned out shell of Jack London's house and really enjoyed the peaceful stroll. We then went to Benzinger Vineyard tour. We wanted to stay in Glenn Ellen and picked this hotel due to it's price. Enjoyable stay in Glenn Ellen and this hotel suited our purpose. If you're looking for a peaceful place and aren't too wrapped up in staying in posh/luxury (expensive) digs, Lack London Lodge will suit your needs. Stayed here May 2011

“Wonderful Stay”

We had a great time staying at the Jack London Lodge at the end of a wonderful day of exploring the very nearby Jack London State Historic Park. This is a wonderful park full of history, with a museum filled with wonderful stories and artifacts. The JLL was very clean and quaint, and the proprietor was very pleasant and helpful. Within walking distance is the adorable town of Glen Ellen with restaurants, etc. I would highly recommend this place!

“What an awesome place for a wedding!”

Having our wedding at the Jack London Lodge in Glen Ellen on October 1, 2011 was an amazing and wonderful event not only for me (the bride) and my handsome groom but for all of the guests and the wedding party. Several aspects of the venue lent to a stellar wedding experience. First, all of our guests were able to say at the lodge thus eliminating the danger of drinking and driving. The fact that all of the guests were staying at the hotel also enabled many of them to meet prior to the formal festivities and thus added to a more relaxing, casual and jovial vibe. The complimentary continental breakfast in the morning certainly helped facilitate the introductions.

The venue is lovely and romantic: perched on a wooden deck above the confluence of two creeks, nestled under the canopy of huge oak trees. Conveniently, after the formal reception was over, most of the guests walked over to the historic-era Wolf House bar (which is situated on the hotel grounds) and continued the party.

In addition to the stellar setting, what made the whole experience so great was the presence of Elaine Neally. She not only guided us in planning the event and toward time-proven quality service providers but was there every step of the way the day of the wedding to let us know what was next on the schedule. This facet of the Lodge not only provided us with sanity yet also enabled us to enjoy the wedding and not worry about looking at our watches, trying to control what happened next or remembering for that matter, or what was scheduled to happen next. Elaine made the whole event function flawlessly. Overall, we would strongly recommend the Jack London Lodge as a wedding venue. We did not break the bank and still had an unforgettably fabulous wedding. Almost all of our guests mentioned several times how lovely the whole experience was and what a good time was had—including both sets of parents. That is worth its weight in gold!!!!! Thanks Elaine and Michelle.

“Fine”

For some reason I thought that this was a B&B. It is not. It is more of a motel but, it is small(ish) and cute. We visited in mid- November (off season) so it was nice and quiet. it is in a very pretty location. the pool and hot tub are very nice. they are located next to the small parking lot and surrounded by trees. The staff were very friendly. The saloon of the same name is just out front on the main street. It is small and more bar than restaurant with decent food. nice atmosphere, full of locals.
overall the room was clean with a few forgotten spots (food wrappers under the bed and someone's socks (clean) next to the armoire.

Room Tip: the radiator heaters work a little too well. Turn them down before bed.
