“Shiny outside – not so shiny and trendy on the inside”

I wanted to try something new and different this time after having stayed at the Hilton for many years so I had great expectations based on the reviews I red in the past. Also the fact that Hyatt is quite far from the Anaheim Convention Center is somehow an investment that you have to make in time and effort to get to the Convention Center. When you come into the hotel you get that great feeling and it has a really nice lobby and entrance, no question about that. I really like the interior design in the lobby and also the restaurants which are nicely weaved into the lobby. Well, I checked in and the staff was very helpful and I asked about a nice a quiet room away from those elevators, ice machines and storage rooms because in the end you want to have a good night’s sleep. My room was on the 12th floor so you couldn’t hear any noise from the traffic but there were something else – watch out for those big fans on the roof because they will get to you somehow, the noise is not loud but painful anyway. The first impression of the room was ok but when I looked closer I can tell you that it needs to be refurbished. Bathtub (who uses that today) and the colors are really boring and “grey”. What I cannot understand is why hotels almost always have a wall-to-wall carpet instead of a nice hygienic wooden floor. The other advantage that was claimed was that the room had an “air purifier” and that sounds great at first. When I switched it on I noticed that it was dirty and full of dust both on the machine itself and around it (of course I have a picture). This is of course not acceptable, the room should be really clean and nice – after all I am paying for that. I went down to the reception and told my story and of course the lady behind the counter was “so sorry” (yeah, right) and she was going to tell the staff to clean it and also make sure that the manager would contact me. I was there for almost 5 days and nobody contacted me and to me it feels like they do not care at all which is a shame, because the overall impression will get a much lower rating because of this behavior. My recommendation to the staff and the manager is to not forget who is paying the bill and make sure to follow through when you promise something.

“nice modern beautiful hotel...”

i stayed at the hyatt in the end of january til the 2nd of february. this is a nice, nice hotel. i most preface by saying that the rooms are modern luxe with a flat screen tv. the staff were the MOST polite, professional,"happy to assist you" attitude. they were FANTASTIC!!
i was there for a convention so all of my meals were eaten on premises with an exception of bottled juices from the target located across the street. at one of my meals they had turkey & brisket with small buns to make our own sandwiches with mayo. let's say i got VIOLENTLY SICK on that mayo.being a rookie at buffets i SHOULD have asked for prepackaged mayo that was free from cross contamination from others and cold. i remember that the mayo wasn't cold but more room temperature. BIG MISTAKE. OH YEAH i spent the next 2 days throwing up and not being to hold any food down. i could only eat pop corn and drink gatorade. i'm still recovering from the after effects a week later.
i had pre-paid our disneyland tickets before i got sick & were non refundable. i informed my husband i was going even if he needed to rent a wheelchair & push me around. luckily i didn't need one but i was walking real slow and sitting on the bench while my husband and son rode the attractions :o( the hotel has a shuttle $4 for a all day pass and little kids are free very nice drivers!! DON'T FORGET TO TIP THEM!!
even though this is a modern beautiful hotel i don't think i'll be staying there again i just like to be a hotel where i can open the windows to get some "air" and with modern hotels with window that don't open it i'm not a fan.:O(

Room Tip: chose a room AWAY from the ice maker or vending machine.

“Great stay at Hyatt Orange County”

We stayed at the Hyatt for 2 nites in mid-january for our Disneyland vacation. As usual, the hotel was typical of a hyatt: it was clean, comfortable, and had plush beds. Yes, the rooms do open to the atrium, but it wasnt a problem. We were on the 3rd floor but noise wasn't an issue. We just kept the drapes closed at nite. We used the shuttle which cost us a mere $4 per person for a day pass. The shuttle was not crowded at all..in fact there were only 10-15 riders on average. Since we were my at Disneyland for 2 days, we spent most of our time at the park versus the hotel. Overall the stay was great and we would definitely stay here again!

“Everything we thought it would be!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 February 2012

I was here for a convention and and had a room for 4 days. It was HEAVEN! The staff was amazing. The rooms were fantastic. The food is really good at either of the resturants. It was great that the shuttle would take you back and forth to Disney land numerous times a day. I can't wait to stay here again!

“An Excellent Honeymoon”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 February 2012

We spent a wonderful four nights here as the first part of our honeymoon. We were very impressed with the friendliness of the staff; nothing seems too much trouble and there was a genuine effort to make you feel important. The rooms were very smart and impeccably clean with large bathrooms and very comfy mattresses. We had a room that faced out into the glass-enclosed lobby, with views to the Santa Ana mountains beyond.

We had a good breakfast in the restaurant and a few beers in the bar; it seems to attract locals in as well which is definitely a good sign. The location is very convenient for Disney and there is a free shuttle bus. It’s also very easy to get to the OC beaches and it’s not too much of a drive up to Hollywood and Universal Studios. There was a large free car park as well, which makes travelling around much more do-able. We visited the foyers of quite a few hotels as a coach tour we did dropped off at several places, and the Hyatt seems by far the most modern and smart hotel in the area.

We had a brilliant stay and can’t wait to go back.

Room Tip: Whilst certainly not loud, there is music in the lobby, so if you have a lobby-facing room it could...
