Whilst there's nothing overtly wrong with this hotel, the staff are a terrible let down.
Stayed here for the 2012 NAMM show. Check-in side of things was quite smooth, I was quickly checked in and heading to my room. The room was large, air conditioned and comfortable. The bathroom was immaculately clean, the shower was of a good quality, with good water pressure and a constant temperature.
Self parking at the hotel is at the rear of the property and is free of charge, or valet parking is also available.
The bed in the room was comfortable and the free wifi access was a nice touch.
I made good use of the gym facilities at the hotel, which had a nice selection of equipment (cross trainers, treadmills, weights and free weights / benches). Towels were readily available and all common areas of the hotel were comfortable and clean. I found no reason to complain.
However, staff at this hotel are hit and miss at best. Breakfast was a shambles. It's a buffet type affair was cost me the best part of $20. It was average at best. Instead, I chose to walk across to the Marriott Suites next door and grab a coffee and snack at the Starbucks in their lobby. Much better value and frankly, tastier.
The bar was very small, with limited seating internally - as the weather wasn't great to sit outside. Service at the bar was terrible at every experience. If you could grab the attention of someone behind the bar (which was a challenge!), then the order was usually barked at someone else, in a different language and, if you were lucky, your drink was dumped in front of you with a grunt. The saving grace was that the hotel bar had a nice selection of continental beers - which made a nice change from the norm.
Service in the restaurant was also hit and miss. I only took lunch in the restaurant twice with colleagues and our orders were bought to us separately, language barriers were a challenge to getting the correct orders bought to the correct people and despite the place being nearly deserted during our time there, service was slow at best.
The actual hotel and it's facilities are very good. However, the service levels in the bars and restaurants are sadly lacking - meaning we all chose to eat and drink elsewhere, even if it was a social beverage or quick snack.
The price I paid was fair and I slept well - which could be argued is all that is important in a hotel stay. However, there is much to be done on the service side of things - which makes a good hotel great, especially when spending extended time there.
