I really wanted to fully enjoy my stay at this hotel, but there were some things that detracted from the overall experience. This is a remodeled Holiday Inn, which means full-service hotel without the full-service prices you would find at a Marriott or Hilton.
First, the pros: The front desk staff was very friendly and seemed genuinely caring about my comfort and how my day was going, etc. Absolutely top-notch personnel. The hotel is an older building, which shows in some details here and there, but overall it has been refurbished and remodeled into a nice modern space, and it is very clean as well. The parking was easy and convenient. I paid extra to book a suite with a full kitchen, and it was absolutely HUGE. Easily one of the biggest hotel rooms I've ever seen, with all the conveniences of an apartment. There was a gigantic double jetted tub, a large full kitchen with plenty of storage space, a bar, and and full size fridge, oven, stove, etc, an oversized bedroom with full closet and king bed, a good-sized living area with desk and sofa, and a bathroom just off the entry. The bathroom shower and kitchen countertops were granite. There were two flatscreen HDTVs with DirecTV HD content. The internet was free and fast enough. The heat and A/C both worked great. The bed was very comfortable.
Now the cons: A minor issue, but the shower head in the bathroom was too low. I'm 5'10 and I had to crouch a little to keep from hitting it with my head. Also, the water temperature was inconsistent - requiring a constant adjustment to hotter, then colder, back to hotter, etc. The breakfast was also inconsistent. I stayed for a week and some days the menu was offered, and other days it was a buffet. The buffet was terrible - I wouldn't recommend it. Although the quality of the food was OK, the variety was very limited, and one day half the items had been depleted (before 7:30am) and not restocked. The pastries were stale and the pancakes and french toast looked unappetizing. I did not try either. Breakfast service was also really slow.
Bottom line, if I were in the area again, I would indeed consider this hotel. I would probably get the kitchen suite again and do my own breakfasts however.
