I travel regularly on business and I'm always looking to save my organization money, especially on hotels. I booked this hotel because I my husband and I had stayed before and the room was nice. I was aware that some of the rooms had been remodeled but there were a few that were not. I asked the attendant if my room was one of the remodeled ones and she said no. She was very nice and quickly changed my room for one of the remodels. The hotel grounds are beautiful but as soon as I opened the door to my room, it smelled like body odor. The floor was laminate but it was obvious that it had not been mopped in quite some time so I was careful not to walk around without shoes. The decor of the room was nice, all of the furniture matched and on the surface, it looked like a nice place.
I went to dinner with a friend and came back but I had an uneasy feeling. The decorative pillows on the bed had stains all over them and were dingy. They seriously smelled like body odor. I looked down at the bed's white comforter and there was a stain on it. This wasn't the type of stain that hotel staff had tried to wash out. It was an actual surface stain that was there because someone was obviously "partying" in an adult way on the bed and it had not been washed at all! I pulled the comforter back to find more of those types of stains on the underside of it and on the blanket underneath. There was hair in the bedding and it was just plain dirty. I was disgusted! I marched to the office in my pajamas and politely told them about the situation. One of the desk attendants apologized but the other one acted like it was no big deal. Both of the attendants came into my room a few minutes later with a new comforter. One of them stated that it was just the duvet that needed to be washed on the dirty one. I thought, "No, the whole damn thing needs to be dipped in bleach." The attendants placed the dirty bedding in my closet and said housekeeping would take it away in the morning. So after they left, I picked up the decorative bath mat in the bathroom to find that it was filthy underneath and smelled like dirty feet. I threw it in the closet as well. The next day, the filthy bedding was gone but the bath mat was back in the bathroom.
I will never return to this place unless there is nowhere to go and I remembered to bring my Hazmat suit. It has the appearance of a luxury suite hotel but the cleaning staff obviously takes short cuts and doesn't wash, disinfect or freshen the rooms thoroughly. I have stayed at affordable places like the Howard Johnson that weren't as luxurious but at least they were clean.
