The Holiday Inn Fresno AIrport has the best indoor swimming pool that I have ever seen. The pool is located in an indoor atrium but what makes it special is that it has a huge waterfall flowing into the pool. The waterfall is large enough that one can easily jump through it - making this the ideal hotel for children (or for adults as I traveled with only adults and we had a wonderful time!). I would suggest visiting this Fresno hotel just for this pool alone. There is also a hot tub next to the pool and the pool is heated year round.

The pool area is gated and you need your room key to access it. The pool area opens at 8am and closes at 10pm so the waterfall is not a nuisance for those trying to sleep. However there are hotel rooms available in another section of the hotel (not in the atrium) for those that don't want to be near the pool.

Surprisingly, the pool was not that crowded and I did not see any children. It seemed that the hotel caters more to business travelers than to families. There is a restaurant in the hotel lobby that serves breakfast (buffet and a la carte), lunch and dinner. There is also a bar area, many conference rooms and vending machines in the atrium. The atrium is also set up with open space that would be good for hosting a meeting or event.

Other hotel amenities include a 24-hour business center, fitness center, and an additional outdoor pool.

The hotel rooms in the atrium have a king bed and a sofa sleeper-pull-out located on the ground floor. If you want two beds than there are rooms on the 2nd floor of the atrium also overlooking the pool area. The rooms on the ground floor have sliding glass doors that give you immediate access to the pool area. All rooms feature complimentary high speed wireless internet (you just get the access code from the front desk). The rooms are recently remodeled and have large flat screen TVs.

Check in is 3pm and check out is 12:00pm (noon).

Parking is free and well lit around the hotel so you can park by the entrance closest to your room.

This hotel is the #1 best located hotel for access to Fresno International Airport (FAT). The hotel is directly across the street from the airport. This hotel is the closest hotel to the airport. It is so close, you can see the hotel when you walk outside of the baggage claim area and the hotel is within easy walking distance from the airport (even with suitcases). If you have a car, or prefer not to walk, this hotel offers a complementary hotel shuttle to pick you up from and drop you back off at the Fresno Airport.

The hotel General Manager, Sam Ramirez, is excellent. I had a few questions about the hotel before my stay and he always got back to my emails immediately. Sam Ramirez was also very helpful in giving us the best room rate and he also reserved us the exact room that I wanted (on the ground floor in the middle of the atrium right next to the waterfall pool).

Overall, I highly recommend the Holiday Inn Fresno-Airport! If you have to stay at a hotel in Fresno, this hotel should be your #1 choice.

Our room was large and clean. Comfortable beds, extra blankets and towels brought quickly on request. Great staff at the front desk and housekeeping. Parking was easy and close. We spend half a day just relaxing and swimming at the indoor / atrium pool, Wonderful pool. I have to say it's one of the cleanest and inviting hotels we have stayed at. Will stay here again on the next visit.

Once again the family and I hopped in our car and drove North for the best winter vacation spot yet! Want to feel like a million bucks, let the staff show you your way to a hidden winter treasure! Tucked away from the hussle and bussle of the city, yet literally steps away from the Fresno / Yosemite Intnl. Airport is where my family and I spent our winter vacation. The staff treat you like family, the breakfast cafe is delicious and affordable with a family of 6. Dinner at the bar with my husband was perfect while the kids were enjoying themselves swimming in the heated indoor pool which was just steps from our room. Just perfectly amazing! We love it here!

I am giving 2 stars - for the comfortable king mattress and the heated swimming pool that I did not use.

1.Dirty Carpet – when I got there, I noticed there were small pieces of nuts on the carpets. I did not call the front office. I figured they would vacuum the following day. They did not. The beds were made up but small pieces of nuts were still on the carpet. The maid must picked up only large pieces by hand and not vacuum the floor.
2. Uncomfortable sofa bed – my 2 kids slept on the sofa bed and they kept rolling into the middle because it is dented inside. I tried and it was very uncomfortable. You could feel the frame and there is a dip in the middle.
3. The shower would not drain – I took very quick showers because the water would not drain and it would always fill ½ way to the tub after a few minutes.
4. King Suite Non-smoking room – some people stated below that there is a small refrigerator and microwave in the king suite rooms. No, there weren’t any in my room.
5. No free breakfast – Some stated below that there are free buffet breakfasts. Nope, very disappointed. I always stay in HI and there are always free continental breakfasts and some even offer free hot breakfasts. I was told that there are no free buffet breakfasts in this hotel when I checked in. Yet, I was given 1 free buffet meal coupon because I am a priority card member. How could I eat breakfast alone without my family? Later in the evening, I found out from the cook that there has been free breakfasts but just not this week….which I find ridiculous, just because there is a group of Asians rooming at the hotel. I also found out that the coupon I got is not valid because there is no free breakfast and that I had to order something from the menu.
I had emailed to the manager, Sam Ramirez, to make sure buffet breakfast are available but he never respond to my email. I just assumed free breakfast are offered since people on this website stated there are free buffest breakfast. If I have known, I would have booked a different hotel.
6. Half size pillows – it’s like cutting a standard pillow into 2 pieces…and the fillings are old and crunched up. The pillows are so small that you couldn’t even change head positions, and it hurts because the pieces inside are rolled into small pieces (old). We couldn’t sleep the first night and rushed to the store the following day to buy some pillows. How come we didn’t check out after the first night? We just stopped by Fresno for 2 nights and did not feel like packing and unpacking. We won’t stay in this hotel again.
