“Nothing spectacular”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 December 2010

The Courtyard in Fresno was in a decent location, meaning close to some good shopping and highway 41. The room we originally checked in to was a tiny room with a king size bed. 4 of us would not be comfortable for 3 nights so we switched to a one bedroom suite, with a separate bedroom and living area. A sofa bed and rollaway bed worked fine for our purposes. The front desk staff were helpful and polite. We were disappointed that breakfast wasn't included in the rate. Since it was winter, we weren't able to use any outdoor facilities, so I can't comment on that. Overall, not a bad stay, but nothing spectacular.

“Good Night Stay but beware of slow lobby computers”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 December 2010

I had an excellent one night stay here. The room was clean and comfortable. Thermostat worked really well. Bed was typical Courtyard. I spend less than 12 hours here.

I am not sure why some reviewers claim that ALL Courtyards always have airport shuttles and breakfast included. This is NOT TRUE. I travel 80 plus nights a year and I am a Platinum Member of Marriott's Rewards Program. For the most part only "Airport" Courtyards offer shuttles to the hotel from the airport. This Courtyard is not the AIrport location. And Breakfast is almost never included unless you get a special rate that includes it. Choose the other Courtyard in Fresno appropriately called "Courtyard Fresno Airport" if you need a shuttle.

The breakfast here is pretty average. Not the best at all. It did the job for me who was in Fresno for just 1 day for a business meeting. I dont have the time to search for the best value breakfast. I do like that if you get the buffet, you can order eggs instead of getting the dry scrambled eggs that have sitting on the buffet for awhile. Otherwise pretty standard fare.

The lobby computers are extremely slow even for just checking in and getting a boarding pass. Internet is free and I had no problems connecting to it. Internet reliability and SPEED was good in the lobby and in the room.

This hotel has NOT yet converted to the new lobby. The location is well off the street and is easy to miss. Its just west of Highway 41 but set back from the road a long ways. I believe its the first driveway as you are traveling west on Shaw. No signs in the street to help you out. Can someone please put a sign there? Taxi Cab ride is $25 from airport plus tip. Hotel layout is the traditional Courtyard hotel with an actual courtyard.

There is no room service and/or food service after breakfast here. This traditional for most Courtyards that have NOT updated their lobbies. They have sign that they will be updating their lobby soon to the new high tech lobby with a "bistro".

Overall, its a solid Courtyard and its nothing more than I expect from Courtyards. I just wish Marriott would finish with all the lobby upgrades.

“Found my keys and sent them to me :)”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 October 2010

This is a great Courtyard. Verry profesional. I drove away in the morning. Retuned home. Walked up to my appartment and POW my keys were not in my bag. Pulled out my phone, called Merced Mariott and they said "uhhhhhhh let me check and I'll call you back".

Then, I called the Fresno Courtyard! DJ answered. He clicked a button on his computer and said "yes, I show some keys were found, hold on, ok I have them, what is the name on the account? [I answered], what is the brand fob on the key chain [I answered]," he said he'd mail them. They arrived 48hrs later via FedEx. I will return to this Fresno Marriott in the future. See you later 4-Points by Starwood next door.

Five stars if the Breakfast was better.

“CLEAN, CONVENIENT, AFFORDABLE!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 October 2010

I stay at the Courtyard by Marriott, Fresno when visiting my daughter at
Fresno State University. Sign up to be a rewards member and earn points and upgrades.
This may not be the closest to the University, but only 5 minutes away, and clean, friendly staff, ample size rooms and great ammenities. Worth the few minutes extra drive down the road.

“Adequate, clean and functional”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 July 2010

Booked via Marriott website. Its located just off Route 41 and I had difficulties finding the place. Check in was quick and accurate. Room was clean and everything functioned. The sofa in the room was too hard in my opinion and some cushions or pillows would help with improving the decor and adding some comfort. Flat screen TV in the room. Breakfast buffet was an extra charge and service was adeqaute but the one server appeared stretched at times. Whole Foods market is a couple of blocks away at 650 West Shaw Avenue if you want natural or organic foods and a vehicle is recommended. The hotel has a free computer/printer use in the foyer if you have a need to print boarding passes and access the internet. Check out was quick and efficient. All hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. No issues except the hard sofa.
