This hotel opened originally in 1980 as a Holiday Inn, and quickly became a nexus for those of us looking for a metropolitan experience in Fresno. It remains the only atrium hotel in town and judging by the number of people in the lobby during the evenings and for breakfast in the morning, it appears to be doing well -- probably due it's proximity to the convention center and concert hall. I return to Fresno on an annual basis and usually stay with family, but my last trip required me to find other lodging for the weekend. For example, I did not arrive until 4am Saturday morning; they did not charge me for what was technically Friday night by giving me an early check in for Saturday. I bascially got two nights for the price of one. The room was clean and the bathroom spacious -- admittedly in need of some refreshing, but comfortable enough. It definitly beats staying in one of those souless McHotels at every freeway exit.
