My sister and I stayed in two separate rooms, over the weekend, to see family and sightsee. For travelers from out of town, this hotel can be hard to find on a dark night with a malfunctioning gps. I recommend using mapquest and a print out as a backup.
Although close to a busy freeway, this hotel is sandwiched in between business parks resulting in low traffic volume on the nearby STREETS, on the weekends. The Fremont location is a 15-to-30 minute drive to San Jose, depending upon traffic.
The room décor is eclectic featuring mostly over-sized polished wood furnishings with abstract paintings. The large double bed feels like queen size and each guest is given a multiple pillow option of large, medium or small, soft, medium or firm. I appreciated these comfortable options. The room was big, clean and quiet.
The Courtyard Marriott website lists a kitchen microwave oven under guest room amenities. However, the rooms do NOT normally have a microwave in them. Each person has to order their own microwave oven when making room reservations. The website should read kitchen microwave UPON REQUEST ONLY.
While we could not find inexpensive takeout in the yellow pages, there is a subway within 1.2 miles and a Denny’s 1.71 miles away. There is a small store, by the side of the front hotel desk, with a few food options, but I didn’t want to use the community microwave, in the breakfast area, to heat a t.v. dinner.
We enjoyed the hotel’s relaxing and therapeutic indoor whirlpool which can be used regardless of weather conditions. With all the services and room amenities offered, we had a pleasant stay.
