“Friendly, clean and convenient.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 March 2011

We recently took a road trip and Fort Bragg was on the venue. Being into beach glass, we wanted to get a room within walking distance of Glass Beach. Travelodge is the closest. We popped in without a reservation, and the woman behind the counter let us have whichever room we wanted. Not only was she friendly and helpful, but she actually let us bbq under the covered porch, on our tailgate. The room was very clean and comfortable. Inexpensive as well!

“perfectly fine accomodations - clean and comfortable for reasonable rate”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 November 2010

We rolled in, bleary eyed and worse for wear at 1:00 AM and the manager was gracious. The suite he gave us was clean and comfortable. This isn't a fancy place, just a good place to sleep. I really don't get the negative reviews! Must have been under different management. The continental breakfast was ok - juice, cereal, store-bought pastries. This place was a great value, will keep in mind for next year.

“perfectly adequate for our forty-five bucks, but beware the fabric softener!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 October 2010

We took a bike trip up from wine country and were able to get a priceline-bid room here for pretty cheap! Seemed clean enough, fan/heater was a bit noisy, and the wifi connection was pretty slow. Very utilitarian room, but we had a fridge and coffeemaker for the price, so we were good. With my severe allergy to fabric softener though, I was so sorry I opted to save space in the bike bags and not bring along my customary traveling`just-in-case towel. I had to dry off from my shower with a rewashed/wrung out washcloth and the hair dryer! That and the usual summer fog notwithstanding, we had an enjoyable stay. The couple at the front desk (somebody's grandparents, I suspect) were very nice and helpful; allowed us to park our big Kawasaki in their own parking space to have it out of the falling fog overnight. We left one of the bags on, empty, and it was still there in the morning. Had a nice walk down to Glass Beach and climbed around the little coves.
We didn't try the adjacent restaurant, instead enjoyed a fabulous breakfast at Egghead's, coffee and pastries at the Headland's coffeehouse, checked out the Tattoo museum (cool), later a nice stop in Booneville at Anderson Valley brewery on the way back south. They have a great new location (new to me) outside of town, with a large outdoor area and a beer-in-hand frisbee golf course. And btw, to all our other bike-riding friends, that Comptche-Ukiah road out of Mendocino is one of the nicest rides we've found in this state. Pavement is GREAT, beautiful scenery, nice curves all the way. Sweet.

“Friendly budget digs!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 June 2010

Travelodges can be hit or miss. This one was a hit for us. The clerk and the owner were so friendly and made sure all our needs were taken care of. It is a little out of the "main" section of Fort Bragg, but that helps to keep the rates within our budget. Also, it is very near "Glass Beach", a somewhat overblown but interesting beach full of polished beach glass. Our rooms were very clean and I, for one, slept like a bump on a log. For those on a budget, you'll do well with this one.
