The only reason I didn't give it a 5 star is because the carpeting needed a little help and the couch could be replaced. Other than that it was all good. As you open the door the expansive view knocks you out. the fireplace in the corner is very cozy and the room itself is very large with a little private balcony to enjoy the view on a sunny day. The daily cont. bkfst delivered the evening before is a nice touch and bottles of water and Nantucket Nectar also.Fluffy robes give you a cruise feeling and the Chronicle at the front door keeps you in touch. The bed is super comfortable and the bathroom is pristine. The microwave gave us a chance to warm up goodies from the Harvest market across the road a bit and the service desk was always helpful.The foghorn sounded romantic to me and we kept the slider open so we could hear it. I know some complained of this as annoying. I guess it all depends on the way people look at things. I say charming as opposed to dated. would definitely , definitely stay here again..

We had a two night stay with a great package from Travel Zoo. Our room was very clean. We had a great view of the harbor & watched the comings and goings of the Coast Guard and fishing boats. Our room had a gas fireplace which was a treat. Our package deal came with a very nice continental breakfast that was refreshed and waiting in our room's refrigerator every morning. We enjoyed two great meals at the North Cliff restaurant which was an easy walk across the bridge. Our package included a dining voucher that allowed for all inclusive dining for two, sans tax & tip or could be applied to any dining of your choice. Our meals were excellent. Our package included two admissions to the botanical gardens in Fort Bragg. There's a great view of the ocean from these gardens. Staff was pleasant. All in all a great stay and incredible value...Thanks, North Cliff !!!

The North Cliff hotel was a very pleasant surprise. It is not a luxury stay but we are very picky hotel people and found it to be very clean, no weird smells and comfortable with a wonderful view of the ocean, harbor entrance and cliffs. The staff was very nice and bed comfortable. . The decor may be a little outdated but our bathroom looked to be recently remodeled with a nice floor and new shower stall. The fireplace was a nice touch as was the coffee, pastries, cheese, fruit, juice and water in the fridge, and bath robes. We will go back!

Everything here is dated...decor, TV (CRT), appliances. It's also located right off the sometimes busy Main St adjacent to the bridge. Can get noisy. If you want a romantic spot, better off 9 miles south in Mendocino.
