We stayed in the Fort Bragg Super 8 Motel for several night over the 2011Veteran’s Day weekend. Conveniently located at 888 South Main Street, the motel is on the main drag through Fort Bragg and within walking distance of several restaurants, Safeway and a Starbucks. There is a diner adjacent to the parking lot. We had a hard time locating the motel when we arrived however, because the street sign is small and low to the ground. Our room was a bit cramped. With the queen size bed, round table with two chairs, one nightstand and a low long TV stand, there was very little maneuvering room for two adults. On the plus side, the sink and mirror are generously proportioned and separate from the bath and toilet. There is a hanging rack for clothes.
The room was scrupulously clean and appeared to be freshly painted. Lighting was good. Hotel guests have the choice of reusing the towels and linens or having them changed. Simple toiletries - soap, shampoo, conditioner and shower cap - are included.
The bed was firm, had four pillows and was very comfortable. We were on the ground floor and could hear the people above walking around in their room but nothing else. The heater works great, but there is no thermostat, which necessitated getting out of bed several time during the night to manually adjust the room temperature.
Electrical outlets are in very short supply. We had to charge on the same outlet as the coffee maker, which created a charging backup at the end of the day. We found a power bar under the TV cabinet, but using that outlet require crawling on the ground and unplugging the TV and the other appliances.
Conveniently, the room contains a microwave, refrigerator and coffee maker. There is also free wifi. A simple continental breakfast is served for a few hours in the morning, consisting of several types of juice, coffee and decaf, hot water and tea, and apples, bagels, and sweet rolls. We were able to have something to eat in the room and one day we took some bagels and coffee for the road.
We found the motel staff to be extraordinarily nice and easy to work with.
The Fort Bragg Super 8 was reasonably priced, clean and had all the basic amenities for a pleasant stay.
Room Tip: The only downside to the first floor is that you could hear walking in the room above. Other than th...

Thank you so much for your review. Since we are an economical hotel, we may not offer some of the things that a more expensive upscale hotel may offer, but we do guarantee to give our guests a very clean, well maintained, friendly place to stay. We also try to do the little extra's where we can that is above the conventional economical hotel. We are glad you enjoyed your stay here on the Mendocino Coast and hope you will be able to come back and see us again soon.
