“Fantastic mountain lodge at Yosemite’s front door”

If you are looking for a very nice weekend getaway in the mountains, Tenaya Lodge is your place. My wife and I stayed a night in a Jacuzzi suite and the room was fantastic. The room was very spacious with a king bed, sitting area and balcony, large beautifully tiled bathroom with jetted tub and separate walk in shower. We enjoyed two of the restaurants in the lodge for dinner and breakfast and the food and service were superb. We also took advantage of the large indoor pool/Jacuzzi area. Every member of the staff we spoke with from the front desk, gift and convenience shops and restaurants were very professional, courteous and friendly. Their customer service was top notch and we felt very pampered. If you are planning a trip to Yosemite National Park, Tenaya Lodge is two miles from the southern park entrance and about an hour’s drive to the valley floor. All in all, it was a very enjoyable and relaxing stay and we would definitely return and recommend Tenaya Lodge to our friends and family.

Wow - thank you for your kinds words! Yes, our Spa suites are among our most requested room types, for many of the reasons you mention! We also have the new Ascent Spa at Tenaya Lodge, if you didn't get a chance to experience Ascent this trip, hope you will next time you stay with us. Great for couples, great after a day of discovery in Yosemite National Park.

“Wonderful, Restful Mountain Retreat”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 February 2012

My husband and I stayed at Tenaya in September 2011. It was a very pleasant experience and I would highly recommend it. The staff, food, room, amenities, spa, and general accomodations were excellent. The brunch is excellent.

If you are looking for a great place to stay near Yosemite, this is the place for you.

Room Tip: I would choose a room facing the back.

“A fantastic base.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 February 2012

We stayed at the Tenaya Lodge for two nights as part of our honeymoon fly-drive. We stayed in one of the chalets in the woods a short distance from the main hotel, so I can’t really comment on the main rooms. Our lodge was lovely and it was like a little home from home, with a spacious, well equipped bedroom and living area with parking right next door. We really enjoyed the relaxed feel of the place and enjoyed using the indoor swimming pool which was just wonderful with the snow outside. The hotel’s restaurants were good (we ate in the mid-priced option) and the staff were friendly and helpful. The whole place was smart and had a wonderful relaxed atmosphere.

This place is an ideal base from which to explore the wilds of Yosemite, knowing that you have home-style comfort just down the road. We would love to return one day.

Room Tip: The lodges are set in the forest a few hundred metres from the main hotel; I would recommend s stay...

“Indoor pool is missing windows”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 February 2012

A beautiful lodge with adequate or better accommodations . The room and linens are comfortable . The lobby , loung and restaurants are comfortable . The premises were under major constuction renovation during my last week of Jan 2012 which caused minor inconvenience . The only dissappointment is that the indoor pool has windows permenantly missing and the Parker wearing towel girl is quite rude when questioned about this issue . The indoor pool is frezing and unusable . The rude staff member believes guests should expect this during the winter months . Otherwise , it is a comfortable lodge

We understand your Tenaya Lodge experience was overall positive with the exception of the indoor pool issues. There are no windows missing from the pool area, but there are three windows that are approximately 20 feet above the pool surface that can be opened or closed as desired for ventilation. If these are the windows you're referring to, a staff member would have been happy to adjust them to your satisfaction. Friendly and gracious service is a hallmark at Tenaya Lodge, and if there was an interaction with a guest staff member that didn't follow this practice, we would appreciate having a few more details from you so we may follow-up appropriately.

Thanks again for staying with us and we hope we have the opportunity to host you again very soon.
