“We loved Big Creek Inn!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 February 2012

In January, my wife and I were honeymooning in California and we spent two wonderful nights at Big Creek Inn. We arrived late in a bit of a snow storm and John (one of the innkeepers) was there with a friendly greeting. He showed us to the cozy and spotlessly clean Mariposa room, gave us a brief explanation of where everything was and then left us to enjoy the Inn's great DVD collection. We slept well in the comfy bed, warmed by the gas fireplace, and awoke to fresh coffee outside our door the next morning at the time we requested. After coffee, we we were served a beautiful breakfast in the dining room and given very useful information about hiking/sightseeing in Yosemite (not only that, Pamela and John lent us some rain gear and snow chains for our car!). After a great day of hiking, we ate dinner just 2 minutes down the road at Tenaya Lodge. The meal at Tenaya was fine but we sure were glad to be staying in the much more romantic and private confines of Big Creek Inn. The next morning we had another great breakfast prepared by Pamela and then headed on our way.

We absolutely recommend Big Creek Inn to anyone heading to Yosemite.

“Great location and value, beautiful rooms, friendly hosts”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 February 2012

We stayed here for 2 nights during Feb. 2012. The day of arrival we were lucky that the innkeeper, Pamela, called to notify us that we could check-in early that day. Awesome! So we got there bright and early at 9ish, and she opened our room.

We stayed in the Mariposa room, which is a corner room so there are 2 large windows and plenty of natural light. The balcony overlooks the creek. The room was a nice size, spotless, and the bathroom updated and sparkling. There are two sinks (one in the room with the tub/shower and one in the room with the water closet).

The rest of the experience-- the innkeepers, the surrounding area, etc.--was also great. Pamela cooked us some delicious breakfasts, making sure to ask about any special diets. She gave us advice on where to go since we hadn't a clue, she called the park to check for road closures, and she suggested that we borrow her hiking poles. The inn is 2 miles from the Park entrance and just a few hundred yards to the Tenaya Lodge which has some good restaurants. The owners have a cute dog, which they made sure to keep around them and who stayed downstairs.

We will definitely be back.

Overall, there are many excellent reasons to stay here:
1. Great value for your money
2. Friendliness of owners
3. Spotlessly clean
4. Close to park entrance...great location with a creek view.

Room Tip: Mariposa room is on the corner so has 2 large windows and plenty of natural light.

“Big Creek is Awesome!!”

We stayed at Big Creek last weekend. We hoped to see Yosemite blanketed in snow, but there was no snow. The best decision was staying slightly outside the park at Big Creek. Our group was 2 couples and we took the Mariposa and Madera rooms. Rooms are clean and very well appointed. The guest lodging is upstairs with a common are that has a tall table and four chairs, micowave, small fridge, some light snacks and a huge movie collection for the in room DVD players. We had balconies overlooking the creek with a nightly view of the moon and stars that was incredible. John and Pam are wonderful host and have vast knowledge of the park. This B & B is small so book early.

Room Tip: Mariposa has a king and is slightly larger, but all rooms are really nice.

“Romantic little hideaway”

Big Creek Inn is a little gem 2 miles from a very big park.
We were warmly greeted by the inn keepers Pam & John as we stepped out of our car & instantly made to feel at home.
The inn is a beautiful house, set on a pretty piece of land with a creek running down the side. We were a little sad to have come in the hottest winter in history because Big Creek Inn would be truly spectacular covered in snow & we saw the pictures to prove it.
The house is immaculately well kept, the room (we stayed in the Madera) was spacious & very romantic with it's beautiful heater, wide, white bed overlooking the property.
A good B&B is in the details, coffee, tea, ht chocolate, chocolates, mountain mix are all provided, along with an extensive range of DVDs & board games. This made our stay memorable, sitting in front of our heater late at night playing chess.
We recommend anyone stay here. Perfectly located, well presented, friendly faces & Indi - the wonder dog!

“A little piece of luxury!!”

The Big Creek Inn is a great base for Yosemite but the best thing is when you get back at night you can relax in the luxurious rooms, watch dvds and generally chill out. Pam & John give you a great welcome and if you are really lucky you get to meet Indy, the standard poodle, who is just one cool dog!! When we stayed there was snow so it was just idyllic.

They serve a great breakfast and give you good tips for hikes and exploring. They also can lend you things like walking sticks which of course we didn't have and welcomed given the snow & ice! We spent all day out and ate at the Wowona on the way out of the park. It was pretty good food, would not recomment the Tenyaya Lodge, pretty average food.

There are free soft drinks & sweets at the Big Creek Inn plus great dvd collection. Perfect for unwinding at night especially as our room had a beautiful big fire so we were really snug. Definitely worth staying at and it is a great base from which to explore.
