“Great base to visit Yosemite”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 December 2011

Although we stayed at the Inn during low season (november 2010), and we didn't have the pleasure of dining at their restaurant, we really enjoyed our stay. The staff was friendly, including the strange Hemingway cat in the small tourist shop.
The Inn is conveniently located near the south gate of Yosemite. The rooms are very clean, with a private bathroom, a coffeemaker and Cable TV. We enjoyed the view of the garden with some smaller sequoia trees and some inquisitive chipmunks.
It's lovely that this is a smaller hotel, apposed to the larger hotel a little up the road, where we had dinner twice. The breakfast during low season is only a bag hanging from your doorknob, but it was sufficient.
We can recommend this Inn.

Room Tip: The further you are from the road, the least likely you are of hearing traffic (not that I recall he...

“Charming and Perfect Balance of Value, Quality, and Location”

Very unique and charming inn. We had a top floor room with a balcony off the back. The balcony overlooks the lower parking area and has a view of a mountain. The bed was very comfortable. The heater warmed the room quickly. The bathroom had a minor maintenance issue - easily fixed. The walls were thin - we could hear our neighbors. The landscaping and gardens were well done and added a great touch. I compared a lot for places and am sure that this is one of the best values in the area. For location to Yosemite central, it is about an hour drive, maybe a bit less; you could stay closer, but it would certainly either cost more or be lower quality - this place is a great balance of cost, quality, and location. We did not eat in the associated restaurant as it was closed for the season - look in Oakhurst (avoid Tenaya's restaurants). The breakfast basket was welcome as we like light breakfasts and used the remainder as snacks while hiking. Be sure to wander down to the right of the inn to see the working narrow gauge railroad and cars. If we made this trip again, we would stay here again - wouldn't even look for another.

“Good spot for visiting Yosemite”

stayed for two nights in September. Very hot weather. pool lovely and so was hot tub. Lovely big room but a little disappointed with the darkness. I asked for a light room with a view, because of large trees nearby this had neither. The trees by our corner room need to be removed or pruned as they are too close to the balcony and gave a claustrophobic dark feeling to the balcony and room. Overall though this was a delightful place but a little run down.Helpful staff and the restaurant which was only open on one night was good, expensive, and also served excellent cocktails by a charming barman! Breakfast was perfectly adequate and served in a room with a great view over the forest and it was lovely to watch the birds at the window. A fridge would have been good but I was given a coolbox which when filled with ice worked well. A good priced hotel
very close to Yosemite.

Room Tip: ask for a room on the far side of the lower car park as these would appear to have the best open vie...

“Wanted to stay longer!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 October 2011

Book it. Tranquil, pretty, welcoming, quiet. Really enjoyed our one nights stay in the Inn. Rooms were pretty although fan abit noisy in room and did disturb sleep. Great bar with lots of atmosphere. Pool area great during day but sun went off the pool quite quickly, hot tub a plus though. Restaurant average, waitress abit scary and assertive but enjoyed a few laughs with her. Food was good nothing spectacular but enjoyable. The views were amazing across the park so for the cost of an overnight its a "no brainer" for me!
