Stayed on 3rd floor, king bed. Smooth large elevator. Room was quiet all night, even though facing Hwy 101. Comfy high-thread-count-feel sheets. In-room choice of down/feather combination pillows, or down pillows. Large tub/shower, very clean. Digital and accurate HVAC thermostat kept us comfy. Free 5pm - 7pm dinner buffet with lite entree (we had pasta and soup) and salad. Free popcorn. Cost was under $100 with AAA discount in mid January 2012. Would stay there again.

First of all we didn't plan on staying at a hotel, or we would have booked ahead. We came in around 2:30 AM. We couldn't find any place that still had smokers rooms available.They were very accommodating and friendly.They even gave us a later check-out. That was very much appreciated.The room was clean and spacious. The beds & pillows were wonderful ! Best night sleep, we have ever had at a hotel. We were not awaken by travelers or staff. That was a plus. Great stay for the money. We will definitely be going back here next time we are in town and advice fellow travelers of this Clarion in Eureka. We usually camp when visiting family there. But, for the money and added amenities it's worth it.

Too noisy, and the poorly lighted indoor pool had a creepy "Cat People" feel to it.
Was going to stay at the Best Western, but it was raining and hubby wanted and indoor pool.
Staff was doing laundry and talking outside our room until about 10:30 at night.
Upside was the waffles for breakfast, and front desk staff very nice.

This property is affordable and that means there are things one could wish were better here. They do seem to try and have updated some bathrooms, but overall the place is a little worn. Breakfast included is uninspiring but adequate, the "lite dinner" included is a nice thought, but for starving people only. Ghastly. The pool is surprisingly large, but located in a back building requiring you to walk across the parking lot in your wet suit and pool area is not as well kept as it should be. No towels in the morning and no one had cleaned up from the previous night, for instance. Most unforgivable was a broken lock on the back door of the main building that was Jerry rigged with Velcro so one could get in and out, but even that did not work all the time. The room and bath were very clean and bed was comfortable and linens were fine. It was close to the venue for the Labor Day weekend Blues by the Bay festival which was awesome. Will check out other places next time.
