[See my "tip" below about finding this hotel as it is pretty tricky if you're new to the area.] My mom, grandma, and aunt have stayed here a few times when they used to visit me and I wasn't able to accommodate them at my place. I would stay with them at the hotel too and have a "stay-cation". This Best Western is awesome! We always requested an ocean view room, so I don't know what the other rooms are like; our view from our large balcony offered magnificent sunsets and beautiful mornings looking out towards Moonlight Beach!

I like Best Westerns and can always trust I will have a pleasant stay. This BW will make you feel like you're paying little for a beautiful, by-the-beach stay. Beds are comfy and rooms are spacious. There is a pool and they serve complimentary breakfast in a large (recreation-type) room right by the pool. The food is great (scrambled eggs, sausage, DIY waffles, etc.), and you can sit by the pool and eat your breakfast in nice weather (which is pretty much every day!). Plenty of free parking.

Tip on finding this hotel: This Best Western is set on a hill shared with Tomiko (a really great restaurant/sushi bar!--check out my review). So even though it shows up on a map as being "right on" Encinitas Blvd, you have to imagine that location as being higher up in elevation from the main road. If you're coming from Interstate 5 (either from the north or south), you will exit and head WEST (follow the ocean). You'll come to a stop light where you will see a Days Inn and a Denny's on the left hand side (there is no street name, I believe). Turn LEFT at this light into the driveway going towards the Days Inn, but then turn right when you enter the parking lot, and keep heading west in the parking lot until you come to a driveway that leads up the hill. That is where you will find Tomiko and the Best Western! parking for BW is just after you pass Tomiko. Try not to let the beautiful ocean view on the right distract you when you're parking!

I was very pleased with my stay at the Best westren in Encinitas. The staff was very friendly on check in and out. The hotel was very clean. The views from the very large balcony was cool. One morning I watched the moon set over the ocean just before sunrise....very cool colors. The hotel is a few blocks from the ocean but it can still be seen from the room I was in. The breakfast buffet was GREAT!!! It included your usual contintinal items plus omlets, bacon, eggs, waffles and the bakery items were from a local bakery were very tasty. The staff in the breakfast area were very attentive and made sure all items were replenished as needed. I liked staying in this laid back quaint little town.

Over the past 40 years of my traveling, I find Best Western has great staying power. The Best Western Encinitas Inn is an example of that flexibility. When you see the exterior, it seems a bit dated, but travel through that door and you're back in the 21st century for the most part. The staff is very friendly and accommodating; the "continental" breakfast is far more than that; the Keurig brewer in each room is quick and efficient to operate; and the room itself has both relaxing and working space w/ WiFi. Beach goers will love the easy access to Moonlight Beach (clean, walkable, and well-patrolled) and the hotel underground parking makes it so easy to load and unload all those beach items.

Our stay at the Best Western Encinitas was very peaceful, comfortable, and enjoyable. We didn't want to leave the next day. Everything was clean and in great order. Our complimentary breakfast we ate on the patio next to the pool and it was wonderful. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Encinitas.
