“Great place to stay if you'll be in the San Diego area”

I found the Inn at Moonlight Beach looking for a place to stay for a trip to San Diego. While I initially was looking for a place closer to the heart of downtown San Diego, I chose this place because of the great reviews and its proximity to the beach - and I'm glad I did! It was great for a romantic getaway and was very convenient to San Diego - especially if you take the Coaster train (whose station is literally a 5-minute walk from the Inn). My wife and I didn't need to use our car at all while we were down there. We could walk right down to the beach or enjoy any number of shops and great restaurants in Encinitas - all on Ann & Terry's recommendations.
The room we stayed in was "cozy" - not too spacious, but very comfortable, clean and well-kept. It felt like staying in a nice home - not a hotel (which is a good thing). Ann's home-made pastries, great fruit plates and assortment of other breakfast treats made it feel even more like home. The books, furnishings, soft music occasionally playing in the common room - and most importantly - Ann & Terry's friendly, conversational manner made for a great experience. They provide good service, but aren't nosy - a great balance. All in all, it was a great trip and (I'm not just saying this) we would definitely come back again. We've already recommended it to a number of friends. Probably the best deal in the area!

“Down to Earth”

It was my wife's birthday. We had just spent 2 days in downtown San Diego, touring the city, and wanted something comfy and away from the hustle for our last night. I wanted to stay in the Penthouse, but its very difficult to book that room for a single night, so we ended up in Sea Breeze. Its a quaint room, great character, and just what we needed. Hadn't stayed in too many B&B's, and was somewhat nervous about how the hosts would be. Terry said just the right thing when we arrived: "We're here to help however we can but we don't go around playing the banjo and make you come out and meet all the other guests!" They're down-to-earth people, who make you feel very much "at home."

“Incredible, Romantic, Beautiful”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 November 2010

Me and my girlfriend came to the Moonlight Inn for a relaxed weekend and for the opportunity for me to "pop the question." We had the time of our lives, arrived as boyfriend-girlfriend and left as engaged!!! I knew this place would do the trick!!!
Thanks again Ann & Terry for a great weekend we will both never forget:-)

“Outstanding”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 November 2010

We staid at the Inn at moonlight Beach for a couple of nights in between a business trip to San Diego and our flight back to Europe. It was a great choice. Ann and Terry were friendly, very helpful and knowledgeable about the are and South Cal in general. Breakfast is outstanding and Ann even prepared us a very early breakfast before we can catch our plane!

“Delightful”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 November 2010

Perfect setting for a relaxing stay in the midst of the North County beach scene. Hosts are wonderful, friendly, and helpful. They have done a masterful job on the landscaping surrounding the Inn with plenty of spots for sipping a drink, reading or a nap. On the first night of our stay we were rewarded with a full moon high over Moonlight Beach which is a short walk away. The breakfasts are fresh and tasty; a perfect start to an active day. Would have rated higher, but for the nearby train crossing.
