Never before have I been so pleased with a place that I have taken the time to write a review. The warm friendly greeting upon arrival from George and Deb was like getting together with old friends. Our spacious third floor room was a home away from home with it's cozy kitchen and separate bath. The sunsets from the balcony (with a glass of wine) were unparalleled. The location and the price for all of this??? Surprisingly affordable! If you are ever in Encinitas or the San Diego area we highly recommend the Moonlight Beach Motel. You will not be disappointed. We will be back!!

I just stayed there with some people from Japan and their staffs are super friendly and nice!
also, the location was fantastic -- close to everything, FWY/Beach/Main streets..etc.

The room was also big with kitchen.
you'll have a patio if you stay 2nd or 3rd floor which is also nice!

The views are extraordinary. Debra and George did everything in their power to be accommodating and that in itself is priceless.
The room contains everything one would require to live there for a week or more.
If you are looking for glamor, luxury and/or perks, this is not the place for you. If you are looking for relaxation, hassle free accommodations, gorgeous sunsets, accessibility to the beach, downtown Encinitas and San Diego via the Coaster, the botanic gardens, Legoland as well as affordable prices, this is the place for you. Oh, and though we did not use the BBQ grills, they are there!

Three generations of my family met at this cozy motel for Christmas. We couldn't be happier with the views, the price, and the helpfulness of the owners - George and Debra. At the MBM, you can just open your sliding door to the porch (every room has one) and listen to the waves crash on the beach as you watch gorgeous sunrises and sunsets. The rooms are clean, spacious, and the kitchens have all you need. Three gigantic BBQs are available for use on a large shared patio. Coffee shop around the corner. Two blocks away there are firepits, sand volleyball courts, and a miles-long beach for running, playing football and flying kites. We will surely be back, as soon as possible.
