Unlike other Hotels in the area, this one does Not have the train going by right in front. There was some road noise that was easily drowned out by the semi-quiet fan. Giant jacuzzi tub was a nice treat, complete with a bathroom TV to watch as you soak. I unplugged the fridge, which was noisy and here's my BIG TIP....behind the fridge is where they hide the plug-in room freshener which, in my humble opinion, does not freshen the room but only stinks it up. Friendly front desk people and a nice breakfast in the morning. I'll stay here again when in the area.

Stayed in a 2 Queen Suite. Nice size with new flat screens. It is a bit noisy as your rooms face parking garage and things echo. Not too bad. Gym had 2 treadmils (which I contacted front desk to tell them that both belts were loose and they need adjustment. Went in next day and nothing had been done). Nice new treadmill if they just maintain it. Great location and nice little rib place right out front. Dana Harbor you can walk to. Great Overall value

Located on US 1, modern Holiday Inn Express was a perfect spot to regather energy and restore one's spirits. Upgraded room with spa tub, mineral salts, vanity with cosmetic mirror, separate shower and toilet, and well lighted sink in travertine tile bath went way beyond the usual travelers expectations. Worthy of tourists other consideration, was the great free breakfast bar with hot and cold selections.

I stay at the HI Express - Dana Point a few times every month for business and this is the best hotel for the price, by far. Dana Point contains many excellent hotels and resorts, but they tend to be quite pricey due to the demand and location (which is awesome). That is why I always stay here because the location is perfect, it has easy access to I-5 either going north or south. It is close to many of the great restaurants in Dana Point and within a short 5 minute (or less) walk to the harbor. The rooms are very clean and the entire facility is very quiet (even when I open the window to get the ocean breeze). I strongly recommend it.
