“Another fabulous stay!”

We like Kimpton Hotels in general, and the Cypress Hotel, for the second year in a row, did not disappoint. The room rates are excellent over the holidays, which is perfect for us as my children and grandchildren live within 45 minutes either way from this Cupertino property. The staff, room, bedding and amenities are outstanding. There is coffee, decaf and tea in the lobby every morning; for the holidays there was hot chocolate or hot cider in the evening as well as their usual wine for guests. On Christmas day, we enjoyed a lovely continental breakfast and fresh fruit. A very short walk out the back door takes you to Le Boulanger plus Starbucks is right across the street.

“Our new favorite hotel!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 January 2012

My six year old son and I arrived three days ago. We flew here from Chicago so my son could have surgery, and he was so nervous.

When we got to our large, beautiful room, there was a huge Sponge Bob balloon bouquet on Luke's bed, along with a handwritten card signed by the staff members. They also had a plate of cookies and glass of milk for him, and of course a mini leopard robe.

Since our arrival they have bent over backwards for us. Everyone here greets my son and I by name, and they are so friendly. They have brought us a microwave, a humidifier, and everything else we have asked for (and we have asked for a lot!). In addition to being a fabulous hotel, I just cannot get over the personal attention we have received.

Also, we have eaten all of our meals here, and the restaurant and room service is excellent.

We can't wait to stay here again.

Dear Jlp1991,
We are very happy to be able to make everything comfortable for you and Luke, knowing that your visit to the area is for medical reasons. I am happy to see that Luke enjoyed the little things we had prepared for him. Thank you again for staying with us and most importantly, we hope that Luke feels much better.

“Gotta love the dogs”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 January 2012

We stay here when visiting my parents in Cupertino where I grew up. Wonderful hotel with a friendly staff. First off, you must understand that this is a dog friendly hotel so if you don't like dogs or are bothered by the idea of dogs living under the same roof as you then this may not be the place for you. Having said that, the hotel restricts the dogs to a specific floor so non-dog lovers are not staying in rooms previously occupied by dogs and their families. But dogs (all well behaved) are often seen in the elevators and lobby.
The staff are wonderful and really go out of their way to help out. Coffee and hot chocolate (the good stuff, not the fake, instant kind) are served every morning in the lobby. When we checked out early in the morning there was no hot chocolate so the woman at the front desk ordered me a cup to go from the kitchen. The manager sent me an email asking if we had a photo of a family member who wasn't able to be with us, if we sent it to him they would print and frame it and have it waiting for us when we arrived. I emailed a photo of our Golden Retriever who we had just lost and as promised, a framed photo was on the nightstand of our room when we checked in.
The hotel sits at the major intersection of Stevens Creek and De Anza Blvd. Covered, free parking garage with easy access to hotel. The rooms are very nice and clean with fairly high(er) end furnishings and very quiet despite the dogs in the neighborhood. Nice workout room with free weights and nice cardio machines. Pool is off-site; shared with local condo so a short walk from hotel back door. Restaurant is just okay but that really hasn't changed much in all the years that I've been going there. Staff is nice but food is just so-so. Plenty of local places to eat, some within walking distance.
Pricing is a little steep during the week since, I assume, this is considered a business hotel. Deals can be found though especially on the weekends where I've paid $100/nt which will often include some bonus like a bottle of champagne or food credit for the restaurant or mini-bar. Overall we love this place and will stay there as long as we can get a reasonable rate. Being dog-friendly is a huge bonus and sometimes a necessity but even when traveling without our dogs this place is our first choice.

Dear kayenine,
This morning I was so excited to see your review regarding your recent stay with us. Thank you very much for all the details provided to describe your experience. Please know that your comments were shared with the rest of the team and we will celebrate with them. We truly believe that small details make a big difference and it seems like in your case, a framed picture of your dog, a cup of coffee after the coffee hour ended, enhanced your stay.
We are looking forward to seeing you again next time you come to visit your parents.
Sincerely,

“Great Hotel at reasonable price.”

Great business hotel at fairly reasonable, stayed here for a week during my trip to Silicon Valley. It comfortable and has everything to meet your business need.

Front desk staff is attentive and courteous , e.g: when I requested a document to be photo copied they did it for me with a smile and did not charge even after I offered to pay for service.

on the contrary, Courtyard Marriott , did not allow me to do the same, and charged $1.50 for making a copy of a A4 size document. (no receipt was issued)

Room Tip: Choose a room on higher floor , preferably 5th upwards take non garage facing room

“Casual elegance with a touch of whimsy.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 December 2011

Love the room interiors. Polka dots surround you in an elegant, engaging way. Kudos to the interior designer. The blend of patterns is superb with the juxtaposition of circles and stripes. I also loved the touch of leopard in the pillow and the terry robe. The room was clean and the bed extremely comfortable. Front desk staff was friendly and helpful. Bathroom included a great shower and Aveda toiletries.
Saw another traveler checking in with her dog. My understanding from another traveler is that the hotel is "dog friendly". I was on a very short business trip and only stayed one night but will return to experience more of the Kimpton
