“Better than it looks from the outside”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 February 2012

I was in the area visiting a friend who lives nearby and found this property highly rated here on Trip Advisor. The hotel doesn't look like much from the outside and frankly if I hadn't read the reviews I would have driven right by it. That said, the rooms were spacious, clean and quiet despite the nearby roadway and freeway. The only issue with the room was the backwards hot and cold at the sink and in the shower. Once I figured that out I was good to go. I did let the front desk staff know about this little problem and they actually seemed concerned and as if they would address it. The attached "metro cafe" was surprisingly good too. Went there breakfast my last day and was pleasantly surprised at the quality of the food. The $5 voucher from the hotel was a nice plus. I will certainly be staying again next time I am down for a visit.

“Large rooms within budget”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 January 2012

This hotel has large rooms at very reasonable prices. The ambience outside the room is not so good as it is from a corridor overlooking the road but once inside, it is much better with all facilities like fridge, TV, sofa etc. The room was comfortable with the aircon ON. Connecting to the Internet was inconvenient as they give only one password per room, so only one person could connect at a time and everyday you have to ask for a new password. The $5 discount on breakfast was a good gesture.

“OK”

Stayed there for 4 nights. We booked a King suite and were upgraded to a 2 x queen suite. The hotel is on a very busy road, so I asked for a quiet room which worked out to be at the back with a lovely view of the free-way. Regardless of the position our room was surprisingly quiet with the aircon ON. The room was also very spacious. The photos on their site is true. The front desk were very friendly and helpful. The bed was extremely comfortable.Location is good, close to roads that take you to all the tourist attractions. There were two negatives: 1) excessive perfume in the suite. We had to request room service not to spray the room with more deodoriser. 2) carpets and couch are dirty and in need of a good clean. Our feet were black after walking on it.

Overall our stay was pleasant, however next time in LA I may stay in a nicer area like Santa Monica.

Room Tip: Ask for a room at the back as it is a little bit quieter

“Value for money, great room!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 November 2011

After looking at quite a few hotels ranging from Hilton to some local motels I didn't want to compromise on quality for a few pounds. The Travelodge seemed to have a good review rating from this website and because I was there for 10 days the price was discounted.

The hotel itself is situated on a quiet main road so even though we had a road facing room it never bothered us in the slightest. The only thing we heard were some voices from the cafe below when people were being a little loud but this wasn't early morning or late night so didn't really mind. The room was cleaned every day with the bed made and any cups/coffee/toiletries which were used were refilled. The TV was a flat screen mounted on the wall and had around 25 channels on which I generally watched Law and Order on. The shower was powerful enough and always hot enough.

In the mornings we collected a $5 discount coupon from reception to use at the cafe next door for breakfast which I'm happy to say served amazing food! Try the french toast, although we generally got half a portion each which they do as a whole one is HUGE!!

There is a cark park underneath the building which has almost enough parking. Only once did we leave the car just outside the hotel on the main road and just moved it back a few hours later when there was a space.

Transport is good, I have family in LA and managed to get across the city (2hr journey) to their house as well as to the airport nice and easily. The bus stop is a few minute walk around the corner.

There is also a fantastic Ramen restaurant on the corner or washington/sepulveda (I think) and this is also worth a try!

Reception staff were great, free wifi and altogether the best place I could have stayed and very happy to have chosen this place!! And yes, if it wasn't clear I would recommend this place to anyone!

Room Tip: There is a road facing side and a car park side on the back. A quieter room would be at the back al...

“Choice of three in Culver!”

We stayed in this hotel 11/18/11 - 11/20/11. The hotel rooms were large resonable and clean! We had a refer and microwave in room and large screen TV. The Metro Diner essentially on premises was very good for all meals! My son is a local, and the diner is known locally! The five dollar discount for meals @ the diner was a nice breakfast touch. One thing I always notice is the shower knob operation! This hotel had a basic turn handle to the left and up the more you turned the hoter the water became! A simple turn all the way to the right shut off the water! I have been lightly burned in by some of these crazy shower faucets!
