This is a nice hotel isolated from coronado island ( on the silver strand). Its close to town if you want to go out and eat , see a movie or viit the beach. The hotel is under going renovation right now but they are isolating the inconvience to the main lobby. Rooms are nice and clean up to date with flat screen tvs. We were there during a soccer tournament (host hotel ?) so it was noisy a little early in the morning. Grounds are well kept. The hotel is kid and animal friendly. Small marina on the property to rent a small boat , kayak, or gondola ride. Resturants are a little pricey but food is ok. Pool area is nice. there are 3 pools, kids , family , and adult. all are heated.

Down sides: as was there las vegas pool area the chaise pads look soiled and clean up of old towels and trash need to be picked up more often. You have to pay to park and if you return parking near your room can be a challenge. ( in my opinion parking should be in cluded ( nickle and dime you).

Over all this is going to be a nice place and a few changes will make this an outstanding hotel fo the price.

Wow really clean.Fresh linen,and great friendly staff.They also upgraded our room to a bay view.The surroundings are beautiful and peaceful.We would stay at Loews again!(be aware that the bottled water in the room costs $9.00!)

The hotel was nice enough. Kind of far out from the city center of Coronado.

Main issue was with the way that they nickel and dime you. At check in we find out that they charge $25 for self parking. Then on top of that we get to our room with a partial bay view (they are honest when they say PARTIAL) and go to hook up our computer to the wifi and up pops a notice that it is $12.95 per day for access to the internet in the room. I reluctantly agree to the charge on my laptop. My wife loads up her computer and she had to pay also. That is $26 a day in wifi fees. Thankfully we did not have my three teenage kids with us, that would have been $75 a day in internet fees.

The last place I stayed that had internet access fees was in Dublin, Ireland and it was only $5 for the day for anyone in the room.

I suggest you stock up on snacks and drinks before you make the trek out to the hotel. Once you are there it is about 10 minutes to the nearest store and you are stuck paying $3 for a drink at the hotel "market."

The last issue was with the water pressure in the shower, or lack there of. I called and asked for someone to check it out and nobody showed up. On our last day I finally had to remove the shower head and clean it out myself. Once that was done the pressure was pretty good.

Loews should make it clear when you reserve your room how much parking and internet costs so that you can compare their rate to the resorts in the city center where the action is.

I think they hide those costs to get the rooms full.

I was extremely disappointed with our weekend stay at Loews. We expected a small amount of dissappointment from the construction because we were forewarned but that was NOT the problem at all. We went on a weekend that there apparently was some local soccer tournament. There were children playing soccer in the hallways and running up and down the hallways screaming until late night. The walls were paper thin and we could hear everything in the next rooms. The beds were extremely hard and old. We woke up each morning with stiff backs and necks. The decor in the room really left a lot to be desired. We spoke to the people at the main desk twice and all they said was thanks...Coronado is beautiful but I do NOT recommend Loews at all.
