This small resort is located right across street from the historic Del Coronado Hotel and a great beach. The rooms are small but very nice. Rooms facing street have some views of ocean and balconies. Doing some remodeling of lobby area which was a bit inconvenient. Inside parking. One elevator which is slow but easy enough to use stairs since only three floors. Free use of bikes which makes for great trips around island. Be sure to go to bay side and watch navy ships; great views of downtown San Diego and bridge. Lots of good restaurants. Coronado Island is like stepping back in time to a more relaxed era. Be sure to spend some time in Balboa Park in San Diego. Eat at El Prada in park.

My wife and I stayed here the end of October 2011 for 3 nights. Room 204: the carpet was filthy. We needed to call the front desk each day to get fresh towels and have the trash removed. This was to be a prepaid booking which they did not do. I am now making long distance calls to get a credit issued for a double billing for the room on our chanrge card. Will not stay here again. Too bad, as this is a great location.

We had a studio unit on the 2nd (of 3) floors as a timeshare exchange. It was snug, with a hinge-down "murphy" bed and a small but very adequate kitchen. Nice and quiet (some street noise but nothing much), comfortable bed, plenty of storage, roomy bathroom with bath/shower. Nice facilities - spa/sauna and access to the facilities of Loews Resort, an easy 4.5m drive south. Great location near beach, restaurants, shops, Vons, on the Trolley tour route. Friendly, helpful staff.

We asked for a ocean view and for extra we got one in the main part of the hotel. The old elevator is very cool with an elevator operator. Our room did view the ocean, but a balcony would have been nice if available. The weather was terrible so visibility was poor, however we did see dolphins swimming in the morning. The hotel feels like it needs some updating, but very clean. We really enjoyed dinner outside in the hotels Mai restaurant. Good service and food.
