We spent April vacation at the Beach Village and it was well worth it. I had originally booked a Jr. suite at the mail hotel but cancelled based on TripAdvisor reviews. At the last minute we decided to splurge and stay at Beach Village instead of Homewood Suites. It was well worth it. Right from the time we arrived the concierge made us feel special. We had a villa room with 2 beds and it was roomy enough. Our 3 year-old had a toddler bed at no extra charge. Our other 2 kids were fine in the other queen bed. We had a deck overlooking the beach and it was wonderful to sit out there and enjoy a meal. The breakfast every morning that was included was great - eggs, bacon, tons of stuff. The concierge was very helpful - got us attraction tickets, printed directions, etc. One day she told us the incorrect time for the trolley and we had to wait about 50 minutes for it and when we got back to our room there was an apology note along with chocolate dipped strawberries, cookies and sparkling apple cider. There were nive touches all week, such as seashells on the pillow and complimentarty water bottles at turn down and a nice candle on the day we left. THe BV pool was great. My only complaint is that there was a connecting door to the next room and there were people there for 2 of our 6 nights and you could hear everything through the door - their conversations, tv, etc. I would not get a room with a connecting door if you can avoid it. Otherwise, it was well worth it and I would spend the extra to stay at the Beach Village instead of the main hotel.

Our family took our Spring Break at The Del this past year. What a great experience. We stayed in a Junior Suite room in one of the cottages. We had a direct view of the beach with no obstructions. The beds and linens were great. I don't know if it was the sea air or the great mattress, but I don't think I've ever slept that well away from home before. The bathroom was nothing short of wonderful! Marble floors, extra large shower, dual vanities, large whirlpool soaking tub, separate commode and large dresser drawers were welcome for our seven day stay.

My wife spent a few hours in the spa and appreciated the thoughtful touches. The spa has a private infinity pool that can not be accessed unless you are there for an appointment - nice touch! BV does have several small pools and hot tubs scattered between the BV cottages and villas. Some are for families, some are for adults only - another nice touch. There is a larger pool for BV guests that offers a short menu and poolside service.

The concierge staff went above and beyond. The morning breakfast at Windsor Cottage was private enough to not make you feel like you were in a crowded restaurant and allowed us to each get engaged in the day at our own pace. The kids (ages 8 and 9) took advantage of an all-day surf camp that was offered on The Del's beach. We all ate at the Sunday Morning Brunch - it too was wonderful and about on par with other similar offerings at similar hotels. We ate one dinner at their restaurant Sheerwater, we felt the menu was not geared towards kids our age and the value just wasn't there for us. Babcock & Story was a nice place to visit and hang out. The resort shopping was about what you'd expect for a hotel like this. There are several economical eating choices within a two-block walk of BV. We especially like the Mexican place right across the street from The Del.

We plan on going again soon. If you can afford the extra price bump over the hotel, we definitely recommend Beach Village.

If you can't afford to own beach front property, the Beach Village is the next best thing. This stay was our third. The first two times we stayed in the villas with partial ocean view.

This time we got a one-bedroom cottage with a kitchen, patio and full ocean view. There were no buildings in front of our room. However, there is the boardwalk where many people are walking, riding their bike or jogging. I didn't mind it. It was actually fun to people watch and people seeing us hang out on the patio. We're not rich but it's sure fun to pretend. The patio had a firepit which made the cool evening warm.

This was my birthday weekend and we invited family and friends. Yes, we are locals. We had lots of fun swimming in the pool, eating on the patio and enjoying the ocean view. If the rates weren't so high, we'd celebrate more birthdays there. The staff was helpful and accommodating. I needed cooking oil and within 15 minutes, the kitchen staff brought oil over to our room. We've never stayed in the Hotel Del because of the reviews commenting on the thin walls. We have kids who love to make a lot of noise.
