We recently stayed at the Crystal Casino & Hotel in Los Angeles CA {Wed Aug-8-2007 (1 night)}. I can not begin to tell you how off the 3 star rating is for this hotel. I have never stayed in a dirtier place. The wall next to our bed was "tagged". That means a gang sign was written on the wall. The door to the TV console was broken off and laying next to the TV. Very substandard furniture. The television itself only showed a couple stations that you could actually see clearly. The phone had grime on it as if it had never been wiped off. The curtains had at least 50 small holes in them. The bathroom had wall paper hanging off the walls, with mold behind it. I do not think I need to go on... Except to say it is not a casino. In California Casinos are only legal on Indian land. This was a card room with a bar! At check-in I was horrified to see the clerk take a photo copy of my drivers license and my credit card. I asked why she needed a photo copy she said they send it to the Compton police station and to their accountant. I have NEVER had to give a photo copy of my personal information before. Horrible hotel!! Possible personal security issue!! Why would I stay at all??? It was near midnight and I had no other choice unless take a chance on driving after I had driven 9 hours that day, it was pre-booked and paid for... Bad, Bad, BAD!.
