I was on a trip to Los Angeles, CA for a week by myself in early June. I would not stay here again.
Although the price was reasonable as a hotel/flight package if not I would definitely have not paid the standard $89/night. Although I didn't feel uncomfortable, LALife.com gives the Commerce area a 2 out of 10 for safety.
The staff are mediocre to deal with - you will not find them going above and beyond, and most would rather not say anything if they don't had to. I had to ask 4 times for them not to charge me $25 for the phone when the same woman was the one who told me my $ would run out when all my time was up, which was not true. I said it was not my fault, and she didn't say anything for about 10 seconds hoping I would just offer to pay for it.
The room does have good cleaning service, and doesn't smell like one of the hotels (Mithila) that I've been at in San Francisco. The carpet outside the room did have some noticeable stains but it wasnt' a big deal. Pool is fairly small for those wondering.
What's nice about this hotel though is they do have a computer for free use as well as free parking. It's not in the best area of LA though, but you do have the highway right behind you.
