My business travel takes me on many back roads. I research accommodations that are a cut above to rest my weary head at night. While surfing the internet (including TripAdvisor), I found The Bungalow - and it was beyond my expectations! Kathey and Mike are the ultimate hosts! Their companion Shamus, a chocolate colored goldendoodle, is sooo cute! The B&B is meticulously reconstructed from an old saloon and tastefully decorated.....The large back deck provides a spectacular view of Clearlake while you sip your wine, read a book, or have a conversation with new friends.... And a hearty and tasty breakfast to send you on your way.

The Bungalow was the perfect escape from it all. It is so peaceful and relaxing. The Bungalow sits right on the lake so swimming, kayaking, or a canoe ride are right there. There isn't much to do in the "town" of Clear Lake Oaks itself, so you have to drive if you are planning on doing more than just relax by the lake.
Mike and Kathey are the most wonderful hosts. Kathey serves an amazing breakfast. It felt like we were visiting long-lost family members. Since there are only 3 rooms rented out it is not over-crowded and you feel like you are getting the special treatment. We are definitely staying at the Bungalow again!!!

Mike and Kathy run an outstanding bed and breakfast. The rooms are comfortable and cozy, the breakfast and snacks are delicious, and the location on the lake is beautiful. They even took us on a boat ride on the lake.

This B&B was such a retreat that it really makes you feel you are on Vacation! Privacy is completely found here.

I am completely addicted to Mike and Kathey's cookies and ice tea (with the perfect amount of sweetness). Breakfast served in the mornings are always scrumptious. My absolute favorite was the Eggs Benedict and Asparagus. Yum!!!!

The only thing that may take a quarter of a star was that the kayak had spiders in it (thinking it has not been used in a while).. I had to hurriedly take off my life vest , run for dear life back to the spa and not kayak anymore because I am deathly afraid of spiders! I know though, if I told Mike about it, he would take care of it.. Quarter star back...
