This was a strange venue to be showing purebred dogs. At first I was not at all comfortable being a single woman with my 2 dogs--there were pimps outside soliciting their prostitutes. I was very nervous about leaving my RV outside. I relaxed when I saw another single woman and her dog appear from the room next to me and then another on the other side and soon I realized I'd been placed in a section devoted to dog owners.

I had no trouble at the hotel, my room was very comfortable but it was not particularity clean. The shower when I first turned it on ran very rusty red and it looked like the room cleaners had never thought to clean under furniture, in the corners or behind the bed which I needed to move to find a plug to recharge my phone. . . the clock radio was very cheap and did not work but there was a nice large screen TV and a little refrig. I did sleep well and I enjoyed the complimentary breakfast. I probably would have given this 3 1/2 stars as I always greatly appreciate hotels/motels and B&Bs that welcome dogs and do not charge extra.

A good cleaning and a few well placed outlets would do wonders for this place. I don't know what to say about the pimps - they never bothered me even when I went out at odd hours but I definitely would not bring kids here.

The staff, Management and crew are really fantastic. The rooms are fresh and clean. There is no waiting upon check in and the friendly attitude of the front desk staff is great. The view is great and the convenience to stores, resturants etc is wonderful. Any time I am in the area, my hotel preference is Hotel Claremont.

The people who work here are friendly and helpful, but the place shows many signs that it's dying. The rooms are inadequately cleaned. There were long hairs on the blanket, cigaret burns on the quilt (a non-smoking room!), sections of wallpaper missing in the bathroom. Exterior posts are uniformly rotting at their base. The continental "breakfast" was insulting--the most paltry spread I've ever seen, served in an unheated room. The pool/spa area was inexplicably padlocked. People knocked on the door of the adjacent room all night long. Why? Drugs? Hookers?

We had a three-night reservation and would have left after ten minutes, but were too tired from driving. The desk clerk was happy to cancel the rest of our reservation the next morning, without charge.
