We have stayed at this La Quinta a number to times as it has easy access to the Mexican border for us to make a 5 am crossing to avoid the traffic.

The rooms are clean and large. We like having the table and two chairs to sit in. Our drive day is very long so were are very tired and hungry when we arrive. It is nice to open a door and see a welcoming clean room. With Denny's right on the property it makes it easy for my husband to run over and get some take out.

Check in was easy and friendly, my husband enjoys his 5 am breakfast in the clean
breakfast room. Will stay again on the next trip down the Baja

This is a 3 story hotel with three adjacent and connected buildings. A decent location off the 805 freeway (Bonita Rd exit). Main access to the second and third floors is by elevator (of course stairs are available). Access to the first floor is from the parking lot. The pool is open from 1000-2200. They offer breakfast from 0600-0930 (If I remember correctly), though I didn't see what they had to offer as I didn't stop by. A Denny's is conveniently adjacent to the hotel, same parking lot but mind the Denny's Only signs. The servers at the Denny's are all friendly and prompt. A couple of gas stations are nearby with one of them offering diesel. There is a fitness room, which I didn't visit so all I can do is mention it as well.

Bottom line: The room is somewhat small with a somewhat large bathroom. Although the bathroom looked a bit weathered by normal wear and tear. The TV in my room was of the CRT-Type (not a flat screen). They did have "some" viewable channels, I enjoyed watching the Discovery Channel and I believe they also had the Disney Channel for the kids. The room is somewhat dimly lit (just not enough lighting or intensity of what was there). The Beds were the best asset as they were surprisingly comfortable, they were medium-firm. The sheets and pillows were comfortable as well and smelled clean.

The room key resembles a punch card or a grey narrow slice of swiss cheese. MAKE SURE YOU INSERT THE KEY ALL THE WAY IN, otherwise you may think your key won't open your door, but they do work! Give it a little nudge in until you hear a soft click.

I would stay here again if I had to. The beds make this possible for me and it was fairly quiet even though the hallways are open to the street with the 805 freeway next door. The location was convenient, the staff was very friendly to me (at the desk, the maid, and the handyman).

I just wish the bathroom was a bit more up to par.

I've stayed more than once at this location and I am pleased with it every single time. I have family 5 minutes away and we stay there when we visit them, which is often. The rooms are very CLEAN. The bathroom is immaculate. I've never found any hairs or stains in the bed which is pleasant. It's near the 805 Freeway which is great. It's about 15-20 minutes away from downtown San Diego.

The complimentary breakfast is more than satisfying. I made my own waffles and they were great. There's a Denny's right on the property but I wouldn't recommend it. I'd rather stay at the hotel and eat their breakfast. It's much faster and it's included in your stay. You won't be disapointed.

The price is very reasonable and all these elements keep bringing me back.

I had the pleasure of staying at the La Quinta Inn in Chula Vista for business just recently. The staff is wonderful! Ron Caton greeted us each morning as myself and colleagues enjoyed breakfast. There is a Denny's right next door if you crave eggs and such, but the breakfast faire the La Quinta offered was perfect for me. The selection included a waffle machine, 3 kinds of cereal, bananas and apples, bagles, toast, apple & orange juice, yogurts, fresh coffee and a comfortable area to sit with the morning news playing.
As I stated, I was there on business and as I checked out quickly on a Monday evening, I did not realize until the following day that I had left my lap top in my room. Ron & his staff quickly located my lap top and kept it safely until one of my colleages was able to get it.
All in all, it was a very nice stay. The hotel is located just off the 805 and freeway close to all attractions.
