“I should not have stayed there”

This is the first time I've reviewed a motel. I am a housekeeper at a hospital so I tend to pay a bit more attention to cleanliness. The first thing I noticed was that there were leafs in the room from where the person swept the floor outside. The roomed smelt musty, the carpet was dirty and the bathroom wasn't cleaned very well. I saw hairs on the toilet and when I took a shower the next day, the water took a very long time to drain. The coffee maker didn't work right and to top it off, when I opened the drawer between the beds, I saw a cockroach scatter. To tell you the truth I wasn't too surprised when I got home and checked my bank statement to find that they charged me $50.00. I paid for the room in cash and when I called and asked why I was being charge they said that there was heavy amounts of smoking in the room. I don't smoke. Why would I ask for a non-smoking room if I was going to smoke in it? The manager argued with me for 10 minutes, raising her voice and then finally hanging up on me. They stole $50.00 from me and then lied about it. DO NOT STAY THERE!

“CSU Chico Orientation”

Good place to stay for around $50. Downtown Chico, very convenient to University.
It was clean and the beds were comfortable. For the price is good...I guess is just like a motel, you can't expect more... For the second night we decided to stay at The Oxford Suites where we pay more than double but got a great suite. If you can pay more great! The Oxford Suites is away from downtown but if you have a car is only 5 more min from Campus, very close to the Sierra Nevada Brewery and next door to all kinds of fast food places ( not too charming). I guess there are lots of options around here...

“Worst Stay Ever!!! Ruined My Wedding Day!!!!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 November 2008

This is by FAR the worst stay I have ever had with any hotel. I travel quite a bit for my profession, and this time I was traveling for my own wedding so I decided to save some money and stay at the vagabond inn in Chico.

I would not recommend this hotel to anyone besides drug dealers, prostitutes and low lives!!!

They ruined what should have been the best day of my life because the room was FILTHY and they could not get their tenants under control. They FINALLY called the police after 5:45am after I repeatedly called the front desk. And this was the 3rd night in a row of having to call the front desk. They would allow large parties of at least 25-30 people in each room doing drugs and underage drinking (I even heard teenage girls laughing about that part right outside my door!) and all they could tell me when I called was "That is the chance you take when you stay at a hotel downtown." If I would have known that this hotel was so ghetto then I would have stayed somewhere else. I am not a partier, and expected my stay to be pleasant. This was supposed to be my home away from home, but instead I got zero sleep (45 mins the night before my wedding) and nothing but RUDE responses from the front desk.

Then upon check out the on-site person was refusing to honor my “stay for 9 nights and get the 10th night free” policy. This girl Ashlee was one of the RUDEST people that I have EVER encountered with hospitality management!!!!!!!!! I told her that there was no way with the horrible stay that I had experienced that I would leave paying full price. After about five minutes of dealing with her horrible attitude she finally yelled at me to hold on and started throwing stuff around the office, slamming her keyboard and mouse, and then as people called the front desk she would answer the phone incredibly rude and slam the phone down. After all this she only managed to work in approx $14 worth of a discount. I was so mad at this point any kind of a discount is better than none, so I took it and was getting ready to walk out when Ashlee felt it necessary to guilt trip me and say “Well, thanks… cause’ I am probably gonna lose my job now and not be able to pay for college!” I came right back in and gave her a piece of my mind. It is NOT your customer’s responsibility to pay for your college education! It is your own responsibility to be respectful enough to your customers in order to keep your job! I paid for my college experience… and I did it by being nice to my customers. Especially when you work in hospitality management… it is YOUR job to keep your customers happy.

My room stunk… the floor was soooo dirty it turned my slippers black, and the kitchenette looked like someone had not cleaned it in a year! The room was dirty, smelly and sticky! Looked like someone vomitted or poured blood down the side of the bed!!!! The management was rude, the guests loud and obnoxious… NEVER AGAIN WILL I PAY TO HAVE SUCH A HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE!!! I was promised some kind of discount, but that will probably never happen. They have taken my money and expect that they will never have to hear from me again!

I was going to stay again for another 10 days at Christmas… but never again. I will pay much more for better service, and will advise everyone I know never to use this establishment again!

“P.O.S. Hotel”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 March 2008

First we showed up and the "pool" was empty and had what looked like a slimy muddy layer all over the bottom. Around the "pool" were all kinds of tools and miscellaneous crap. It was like they were keeping it as a storage area. Then we parked, I went inside and my husband saw a bum was going thru the trash outside. Then we get to our room and it smells like urine. We go inside the toilet wont flush unless you hold the handle down for 2 minuets at lest. Half the outlets didn’t work; the microwave didn’t work because the knobs were broken. There guide for the T.V. wasn’t right all the channels were incorrect. We showed up on a Friday at about 2 pm and our room didn’t get cleaned until Sunday after noon and we had to ask for it, we left Monday. There was never any hot water no matter the time of day. The so called continental breakfast was pastries in a bag that you can buy at a gas station. There where holes in the wall that was half way patched up. It looked like the door was busted down at one point. And there were all kinds of drunken people walking past our room at all hours of the night. Cops were everywhere at night, every time I walked out of the room I saw one. And if you were there during the day you got to hear them doing construction on the ruff (at lest they were fixing something.) To top this I have two small children under the age of 3. So yeah we were even willing to spend another 400 to stay somewhere else, but everywhere else was booked. I would and will never go back here nor will I ever recommend it to anyone. Unless you are a drunk collage student looking for a cheep hotel and have a cheep date. I wish I took pictures to show everyone.
