“Romantic central coast gem”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 January 2012

We stayed in January of 2012, and we had a wonderful stay. The room is very nice, clean, the bed is quite comfortable. We were impressed with how clean the room was given the fact that it is a "Motel." We stayed in the Rambling Rose, and were quite satisfied. The hand painted decor makes it feel very special, and unique and really shows the pride of ownership from Rebecca and Rick. The Motel is situated in a good location, within easy walking distance to everywhere in Cayucos. A must have for visitors is breakfast at Martin's across the street, wow, omelettes to die for and best tasting salsa ever! I have to agree that this place feels more like a guest room than a hotel room. This is our first visit to Cayucos, and Seaside, and definitely won't be the last. What a great place for couples to rekindle their fire, and reconnect, relax in a calming environment. BTW, don't look for a clock in the room, we tried, but it is purposely left out as a reminder that time is of no essence here in this town. This place is everything that is reviewed here, and more.

Room Tip: Any room should be fine, it is a small establishment.

“Home sweet home!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 November 2011 via mobile

Seaside motel is quite possibly the most charming motel we have ever had the pleasure of staying at! We have traveled all over the world and we rank Seaside as our number one spot! The owners, Rick and Rebecca are the most accommodating hosts and truly make you feel as if you've known them for ages. Our weekend stay was wonderful, in part due to the Seaside!

“Best motel to refer people to, plus best one to stay at too!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 October 2011

We have stayed several times, and have always had a great experience. Rick and Rebecca are so welcoming and gracious. They are constantly refreshing the rooms with great antique finds, new quilts, changing color schemes. It's fun to watch. We've also referred a number of friends to the Seaside Motel, and they come back raving -- fans for life. If you want very cute, friendly, spotless, quaint, romantic...in Cayucos or along the SLO County coast, the Seaside is it. There's lots of generic hotels, but none have the personality of the Seaside!

Room Tip: It's fun to take one of the rooms with a kitchen. The local farmer's markets and fish market...

“Felt more like staying over at a guest bedroom vs. a motel!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 October 2011

My husband and I stopped over at this motel during our Hwy 1 road trip along the California Coast and we couldn't be more happy with our choice. Rick was very nice and couldn't be more friendlier with making a 'stranger' feel like home. Our room was decorated with a Fish theme and it was neatly displayed throughly the room. The carpet was soft to the feet and we felt bad walking on it with our shoes on! The bed was very comfortable and it reminded me of staying in a guest bedroom vs. staying in a motel (with Free Wi-Fi Access too)! We were exhausted after a long drive so it was very nice when we were greeted by Rick with a warm smile!

We are sorry to have stayed only 1 night and didn't get a chance to explore the rest of the place but would definitely recommend it to our friends and families!

“Sweet little place!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 September 2011

This little motor court has been completely updated and lovingly maintained by owners Rick and Rebecca. The rooms are all individually decorated, super clean and homey. The suite we had wasn't overly large, in that there was no place to place an open suitcase. We didn't have a huge problem with that though - just took out what we needed and placed the closed bag in the corner. I would have liked to have a fan and probably could have if I had asked. The kitchen is well equipped. There is a patio garden in back that is funky and fun. The beach is a short walk as are dining establishments. I would definitely stay here again.

Room Tip: We stayed in the Cayucos Cottage which has a kitchenette.
