“a very effective accomodation for cost-sensible travellers”

We just need to stop for one night during our trip from San Diego to San Francisco and we chose this motel quite ramdomly. We were happy to assess how Carpintera and this Motel 6 were pretty: both for the location, near the seaside, and the motel itself, clean, confortable and cheap. Absolutely I suggets it, also for a longer period, thanks to the peacefully of Carpinteria.

“Great for the price”

We spent $50 for a Sunday night two double beds which was the posted price. Our room faced the pool and was quiet even though the front of the hotel faced the 1 freeway. The room was clean an the bedspreads were new and kinda cute. It was a cheery simple room that meet the expectation I had for a motel 6.

“Basic comforts near Santa Barbara”

This was just about the cheapest you can find close to Santa Barbara. It's recently remodeled, clean, simple, in a quiet and safe neighborhood. My only complain is that the room smelled strongly of chemicals when we first walked in but after airing out it was fine. Check in and out was a breeze, they required payment up front which was odd but no big deal and it might have been because we only stayed one night.

“Clean, basic, affordable place to stay visiting Santa Barbara”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 October 2011

Its clean, modern, has the basic necessities,is affordable, and has a Starbucks in walking distance. One reviewer described it as an IKEA type room. that's an apt description.
Bring your own hair dryer and shampoo. It has a large flat screen tv, computer plug ins, a little 'table' and place for 2 to sit, and 'night stand' shelfs coming out of the wall next to the beds. There is no carpet, and no 'furniture' per se, no drawers or closets. The bathroom area closes off from the bedroom; there is a wire rack with a few hangers in there. The only thing I didn't really like was that there is no door separating the toilet from the sink.
The beds are firm, which we like, but some people may not.
We stayed here while attending our college reunion. I could find nothing under $100 in Santa Barbara. It was listed in our reunion packet. This is not a place you would want to hang out in, but Its the perfect place if all you need is an affordable place to sleep near Santa Barbara. Check out the local library used book store. Its quite a gem!

Room Tip: We had a second story room overlooking the street the hotel is on,(away from the freeway) at the des...

“Revamped Motel 6 close to Santa Barbara”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 October 2011

Finally we stopped at a Motel 6 that has had an upgrade!!! It looks so much better and we felt better staying there. Still the basic's i.e TV, towels, just off the freeway and nice staff but due to the face lift we felt much happier and more comfort.
It's only 15 miles ish from Santa Barbara which is very easy to get to and plenty of free parking for 2 hours by the road or just go in a car park and you get the first 2 hrs free and pay a small fee after that. They do a little bus from the town centre to the beach 25cents!! Lots of shops and aces to eat.
Any way back to the hotel it is the best Motel 6 we have stayed and and would recommend more to others. Not top class buy you get what you pay for and we were happy
