It's a fair question. Most Motel 6 properties are pretty much alike. But this one, in the Santa Barbara suburb of Carpinteria, seems a bit nicer. Surrounded by trees, plenty of parking, Santa Barbara just 10 miles away. More importantly, it's often $20 to $30 less per night than the Motel 6 locations actually in Santa Barbara. It has a self-service laundry, not often found in 6-land, and is less than a block from a 7-Eleven.

Made a room reservation weeks in advance. Had to stay in a room next to the freeway and were told no other rooms were available. When I complained that the traffic noise was extremely loud my concern was met with complete indiferrence by the front desk clerks. When I asked if we could receive some type of discount I was told "We can't do that." without any apology for the inconvenience.

Problems occur, I understand that; it's how people respond to those problems that makes the difference between a quality organization and one that projects an uncaring attitude toward its customers.

My wife and I will not return to this Motel 6 and will be reluctant to stay in any Motel 6 based on this experience.

Dont leave anything in your room that you dont want ransacked, pilvaged and stolen.I will be suing this motel 6 for the theft and damage to my things that they so decided to help themselves to.This is by far the nastiest hotel i have ever stayed in and i travel for a living............Trust the reviews stay anywhere but here !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It was our first stay in a Motel 6 and I wasn't expecting much. We paid 75$ for a room and I think it was too much for what we got. The carpet was dirty and the room was very very basic. No coffee machine, no fridge, no microwave, no decorations, no shampoo, etc. Many other chains offer all of this for the same price (we actually stayed in a Days Inns yesterday where they has all of these extras for 20$ less). We paid 2.99$ for Internet and it was so slow, I couldn`t check my emails for most of the evening. There was nothing really wrong, but for the price paid, I can say it is poor value.
