“Basic but clean and comfortable”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 December 2011

Stayed in a 2BR/2BA cottage for one night in Oct with 3 girlfriends. Was the perfect setup for us -- twin beds in 1BR and queen in another. There was a sofabed in the LR too, but we didn't bother using it. The additional area with sink/mirror/hairdryer was very handy for getting ready. About the same price as two simple motel rooms but nice that we were all together and had the living room to hang out. The fireplace and s'mores were a nice touch.

We didn't need the kitchen or dining room for just one night and the free breakfast was more than adequate. Close to the village for restaurants. The BR with twins was a little noisy in the morning when folks started to leave since it faced the parking lot.

“The smore's were a great touch!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 October 2011

We recently stayed at this charming property to attend a family wedding the valley. The accommodations had been reserved for us so we did not know what to expect--but we were very delighted. Our two room place was really a stand alone apartment complete with kitchen and dining room. Sweet! To top it all off the fireplace even had a little smore's cookie kit. My daughter was delighted.

As another reviewer noted the establishment is dated, but it's part of it's charm. The staff was very nice and the breakfast was nice as well. They even had a fire going in the breakfast room. We enjoyed the free wifi too. We'll stay here again.

Room Tip: Some units are individual buildings with small porches. These are great for families and are very qu...

“Quiet, Quaint and Lovely”

This little lodge has the ambience of an old fashioned roadside inn. While the decor of the rooms hearkens back to another age, the quality is certainly current. The staff is engaging and helpful and the simple breakfast in the bright and warm dining room is the perfect way to start a day enjoying the next great wine region of California.

“Loved this place - would definitely go back!”

We stayed here for 4 nights and couldn't believe how amazing everything was. Our room (which was more like a cottage) was stunning. Finally...a room where everything makes sense (proper lighting in every room, fireplace, outlets on the night table, Kurig coffee maker, fridge, flat screen TVs, deluxe bathroom)... nothing was missing! Not to mention stunning views from our balcony! Restaurant had excellent service and food while being reasonably priced! Yoga classes were fun. Infinity pool (we used the one for adults only) was beautiful and hot tub was just the right temperature! Firepits were always aflame. Shuttles to take you around the resort were always on time. Great walking trails. Easy drive to Carmel, Big Sur, 17-mile drive and wonderful, off-site restaurants. We're picky... and we loved it! A perfect conclusion to a 2-week trip through Southern California.

Room Tip: Ask for th unit with wrap-around balcony

“Nice room and great location”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 August 2011

My husband, daughter and I stayed here for a short family vacation and loved it. On the advice of previous travelers, we booked an upgraded room, and were very pleased. The decor is attractive but functional. The unit was in excellent condition and spotless. We enjoyed soaking up the sun (or taking the shade) on the front and back porches to our unit. The gardens and grounds are beautiful and my daughter loved the pool.
The staff are friendly and efficient. I was very sick one day, and they immediately offered to send housekeeping to our unit at whatever time I wished. I was very grateful as it allowed me to spend the rest of the day in bed undisturbed.
Lastly, this is a great location if you want to enjoy the Central Coast but escape the crowds and fog of Monterey and Carmel-by-the-Sea. Our stay here was peaceful and lovely, and we'll definitely stay here next time we come to this area.

Room Tip: ask for upgraded unit
