We have stayed here over the last 14 years. One of the best values and locations in Carmel by The Sea. On the main street of downtown it's surprisingly quite and quaint. The rooms are charming and very clean. Three blocks to the beach and stroll to some of the greatest restaurants in California. I say it's the best value in town. I highly recommend this little gem. I will say only one not so great aspect is that the front office is a bit cold. I prefer a more friendly staff, but hey, it's a small price to pay for the great attributes offered here.

The inn and the rooms are ok. We have slept in more comfy beds though.

The location is at the main street down to the beach, close to the restaurants.
In the evening they serve sherry and cookies for free in the lobby. Guests meet and mingle.

We would not stay here again.

We stayed for two nights during New Year's Eve and it was still a wonderfully quiet location. Staff was very helpful with restaurants,etc. Would stay again. Only a short walk to the beach and all of the shops.

Well located, nicely decorated rooms with very comfortable beds, funky but adorable cottages are all part of this large complex, but it doesn't feel like a big hotel by any means, very cozy. We arranged for a large group of friends to spend the weekend and we had a great time. Easy walk to the beach in one direction and all the shops and galleries in the other direction. Parking is tight but it works out, my only wish is that they would take dogs, at least in the cottages. If they would do that I would stay there every time.
