“GREAT place for people and dogs!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 January 2012

We have stayed at the Carmel Garden Court Inn several times - and what a find! We have been frequent Carmel visitors, stayed in at least 8 or 9 other B&Bs - and this is by far our favorite. The staff is warm and welcoming, the property is well maintained, the accommodations are very clean, well supplied and very comfortable. We have stayed in 3 of the patio suites and number 6 is our favorite. Our golden loves the enclosed patio and when the weather is good, we enjoy sitting ont he patio.....The breakfast that comes with the accommodation is lovely - fresh fruit, delicious croissants (muffins and Danish are other choices), and appropriately cooked hard-boiled egg. There are many other options, but these are the ones we choose every time. The little kitchenette area has a microwave and a refrigerator stocked with spring water - we bring our other goodies, like yogurt, which compliment the breakfast. Yes, the bathrooms are small, but really - how much time does one need to spend in a bathroom on vacation! The gardens are lovely, and well cared for - even the fountains are clean! The location is perfect for us - we park once, and off we go - window-shopping, fabulous dining (and so many dog-friendly places!), and to the beach - Carmel is certainly the dog-friendliest town! On the walk back up the hill from the beach we often stop for a nice drink at one of many delightful places...If Carmel is your destination, and you enjoy being out and about, the Garden Court Inn is perfect - thanks, Jen for another wonderful Carmel weekend!

Room Tip: The patio suites are larger, and very comfortable!

“Fabulous Stay”

This was our first visit to the Carmel Garden Court Inn and it was fabulous! We were travelling with our teenage daughter and dog. The room was spacious, clean and very comfortable. I dont understand the complaints about noise as we stayed in Patio Suite #7(on the very end next to the tow truck business) and it was extremely quiet. We loved the delicious breakfast which was delivered to our room and enjoyed on our beautiful patio. James and the rest of the staff were wonderful! We have stayed at other properties thoughout Monterey and this is by far our new favorite. We will definitely be back!

“A return trip!”

We have stayed here twice, and loved it each time. We chose this location because it was dog friendly and we had a private patio (we brought our lab Boris both times). It is really a perfect little place if you have a pooch. It is in a slightly odd lcoation, kind of away from the main part of town, but it's an easy walk to anywhere; I mean, it's not like Carmel is New York City of something, the town is pretty dang small. The first time we stayed here we could hear the youth center across the street, but quite frankly that ended at 10 PM, so if you're complaining, get a life. The staff was awesome each time, and the breakfast on our patio was great. We loved hanging out in town and then heading back to the patio for wine and cheese each night. If you're ok with a little walk, and you go to bed later than 10 PM, I think you will dig the Garden Court Inn!

“Wonderful”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 November 2008

This hotel was absolutely fantastic. We expected disaster because of the other comments posted, but wanted to take a chance and see for ourselves. We found that this small hotel was beyond our expectations. The staff were remarkably friendly, the b-fast was delicious, the room was clean and cozy. We had our own private patio with a wood fireplace. My wife and I enjoyed our relaxing stay and we will return. It is the perfect place for a romantic getaway.

“would not return”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 August 2008

We rented a room for Friday night. Have stayed in Carmel about 30 times because of work but this is not the quiet, charming Carmel experience we expected. The inn is across from a youth center and a towing garage. Expect to hear noise from the tow truck which parks the towed cars next door and the music from the youth center across the street. Even with the doors and windows closed, the bass from the youth center music and the noise from the screaming teenagers did not lend itself to a relaxing evening. The manager and front desk attendent knew the phone number for the youth center so we assume this has occurred before. We aked for our money back and received it, although we suspect at any other time this would have been difficult to achieve. All the other inns and hotels were booked and by the time our money was refunded, no inns were open in Pacific Grove. We drove the 3 hours back home the same day we arrived. Very disappointing.
