“Enjoyed this hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 August 2006

We have recently returned from a 2 week stay at this hotel. This hotel is fine, it may not be 5* but we enjoyed our stay there. Granted the decor is dated but it is clean, clean sheets and towels every day. I saw other motels in the area that were very dodgy and am pleased we chose this hotel. The facilities are great and my daughter enjoyed the pool and the driving range.

“So-so”

The staff was okay, the grounds were a little rundown, and some of the hallways smelled yucky. The walls are super thin. Parts of the stairways were falling off. We traveled by ourselves. but had one of those rooms with the pass thru door, we could hear the other people whipering, it was pretty annoying as they were up all night blaring the tv and Ironing. I thought it was more like a two star than a three star. Sometime the airport can be a little loud.

  • Disliked — Seemed clean, but don't look under the bed!!

“This place is a risk”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 June 2006

The Olympic is definitely a risk.
It has clearly seen better days, and the staff is often more helpful than competent.
We got off to a bad start when they deleted our reservation, which we had made two months in advance.
I called them the day before and they said that they had no record of the reservation, and that the confirmation number which I had been given when I made the reservation ‘did not exist’.
However, when I checked my Visa account I saw that they had put a hold on my account three days before I called, so they obviously had my information then; something happened in the three days between the hold on my Visa account and my call to confirm. Draw your own conclusions!
They did eventually come up with a minimally satisfactory room, ‘tho not what we had requested.
We went there as part of a family gathering, so we didn’t use the recreational facilities but they seemed well maintained.
The room was clean, but the plumbing had seen better days.
The restaurant was unexciting but adequate, and a good value for a hotel restaurant.
All in all, the only reason to go there would be getting a good rate, or their athletic facilities.

“Had a wonderful time!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 June 2005

Yes we had a wonderful time. I have read other reviews on this location and have come to the conclusion that the other reviewers were crazy. Yes this resort did not have the credit card keys for the doors. I think old fashioned keys are great!

We were greeted by a warm and friendly staff. We ate in the restaurant every morning and afternoon of our 5 day stay. Food was wonderful and the staff were very helpful and remembered specifics to our orders.

My kids loved the pool and my husband utilized and loved the gym every morning. We made the trip with our Grand Dad and he and we all loved the views we had of the pool from our rooms.

As I sat in the restaurant in the morning I got a great idea for the visitors to this spa/hotel. I found certain nostalgia for this place. There were people that I spoke to that were members of the club and had been for years. They loved it and the staff showed that they cared for the clients. I felt that I was in a place that some very important Hollywood deals had been made, possibly some great important people had sat in my very chair.

If you have stayed in a hotel anywhere in the USA you have found that every place has its own style. This place may not be up on the newest techniques or style to the wall paper or carpet. But the place was clean smelled fine to me the towels were white and the staff great. It made a memorable stay for us during a wonderful week in May.

Thank you Olympic Hotel Resort and Spa!

“Not Worth The Money”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 April 2005

From the outside the resort looked okay. The rooms were old and in need of remodeling. The hallways smelled really old. They definitely need new carpet. For the first time in my life, I stayed somewhere that DID NOT have sparkling white towels. Our towels were old and dingy. Most hotels throw the towels away if they can not get them white (according to a maid I asked at a much nicer hotel.)

There was no one in the restaurant. So we took that as a sign not to eat there. My family did enjoy the pool. I made my reservations at hotels.com for 3 adults and one child. I did not know that I had to pay an extra $10 until I got there. Hotels took my payment upfront. So I thought that was squared away. The resort was not worth that extra $10.
